What better way to kick-start September than by announcing our new Employees of the Month? We want to congratulate Marcela & Chen-Chen on their nominations as September Employees of the Month. These nominations are a direct result of input from our entire staff & serve as a clear reflection of the nominees' hard work, dedication, reliability, & high level of patient care.

Chen-Chen joined our team at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center in June 2015. She has been a key staff member on our Treatment team, providing guidance & advice to new technicians, & a dependable, experienced presence for our veterinarian team. Chen-Chen has completed the necessary training to assist our veterinarians with monitoring anesthesia & sedation during procedures. This is a significant responsibility, as our veterinarians rely on these skilled technicians to be vigilant for even the smallest changes in a pet's vital signs & be prepared to assist in case of an emergency. She is also a staff member who assists in the training & onboarding of new Technicians at Bishop Ranch. She encourages others to celebrate the small wins, highlights the positives in each day, & she also recognizes others regularly for how their contributions benefited patient outcomes & patient experiences. We are so fortunate to have a team member like Chen-Chen at our hospital!

Marcela has been an integral part of our team at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center for 18 years. She has played a crucial role in both our Client Service & Administration departments. With her extensive experience at Bishop Ranch, Marcela can train new staff members on the processes & operations of our front-end reception area. She consistently provides exceptional customer service to our clients & patients. In her administrative role, Marcela has taken on various responsibilities including assisting with client & vendor communications & resolving billing issues. Marcela’s attention to detail & willingness to address issues contribute to our ability to ensure accurate billing & budget allocations for staffing& equipment. We are grateful for Marcela's hard work, dedication, & contributions to our staff, clients, & most importantly, our patients!

In our continued celebration of our August Employees of the Month, we would like to introduce you to Randi! Randi has been a valuable team member at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center for over 7 years. She began her journey as a Client Service Representative and later transitioned to become one of our Trainers, playing a key role in training over 20 staff members. Randi then transitioned to an offsite position in our Phone Department while still maintaining a strong connection to the day-to-day operations at Bishop Ranch. She continues to provide a warm and welcoming presence to our clients over the phone, assisting with appointment scheduling for technician services and veterinarian appointments, and ensuring that online appointments are accurately scheduled to provide prompt care for pets. Randi also offers reassurance and guidance to concerned pet owners over the phone and stays in touch with clients to ensure their pets are doing well at home after a procedure or even a vaccine update. She is dedicated to client communication and is an essential part of our team's focus on providing exceptional client service. Part of what Randi looks forward to each day is "working with my awesome team and helping clients with their pets' needs."

In continuation of our celebration of our August Employees of the Month, we want to take a moment to honor Liz. Liz is a valuable member of our Technician Team and is also a Registered Veterinary Technician. This means that she has completed additional education in the veterinary field and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). As an RVT, Liz can provide more hands-on assistance to our Veterinarians during procedures. She can also place necessary IV catheters, administer medications under veterinarian approval, draw and analyze lab samples, take radiographs, and provide advice and educate our clients on proper at-home care until a veterinarian can see their pet. One of Liz's main roles at Bishop Ranch is being a part of our Urgent Care team. She helps triage incoming urgent care patients, checks their vitals, collects a history of the presenting issue, and ensures the pet is stable. Being a technician means that Liz has to be prepared for the unexpected, and that is a part of what she enjoys about working at Bishop Ranch. "I look forward to the witching hour with the evening staff where things tend to get a little weird! "

We are thrilled to announce Liz and Randi as our August Employees of the Month! These nominations are a direct result of input from our entire staff and serve as a clear reflection of the nominees' hard work, dedication, reliability, and high level of patient care.

Since the fall of 2021, Liz has been an essential part of our treatment team. She is a licensed R.V.T (Registered Veterinary Technician) and plays a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians with overseeing patients. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she received her RVT license, enabling her to provide more hands-on assistance to both our veterinarians and our patients! She can be called upon at any moment to help with triaging incoming Urgent Care patients, assisting veterinarians with collecting lab samples or working with another team member to perform a nail trim. Liz's versatility and willingness to jump in and lend a hand make her an invaluable asset to our team! Thanks to her extensive knowledge and experience, Liz can also assist our veterinarians and provide clients with at-home care advice for their pets before they come in for an appointment. Her calming presence ensures that even during chaotic times, the flow of the day is kept on track and our standards for patient care are unwavering. We are incredibly fortunate to have Liz as a dedicated, knowledgeable, and calming presence on our team!

Randi has been a team member at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center since 2017. She was a Client Service Representative and transitioned into one of our trainers for new staff at our hospital, and soon after became a Team Lead for our CSR department. Since then, Randi has transitioned to a remote position on our Phone Team. She is one of the friendly voices that greet you when calling into Bishop Ranch. She assists in scheduling all patient appointments and helps oversee client communications for our veterinarians, such as post-procedure calls to check in on your pet after they have had a procedure to ensure they are recovering well back at home. She is also a calming voice in times of worry for a beloved pet and is able to provide clients with the needed advice and reassurance that their pet will be taken care of.

Congratulations to both Liz and Randi on their well-deserved nominations!

In honor of our July Employees of the Month, we are thrilled to introduce Ethan! Ethan is one of our dependable Exam Room Assistants who joined our team at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center in May 2024. Despite his short time at Bishop Ranch, Ethan's remarkable contributions and willingness to help and learn have been amazing. As an Exam Room Assistant, Ethan warmly welcomes our clients and their pets to Bishop Ranch for their pet's appointment and escorts them into the exam room for their veterinarian appointment. He also assists in collecting patient vital signs such as weight and temperature, providing important information for the veterinarian in case medications need to be prescribed. Ethan also takes charge of our laundry room, ensuring we have clean blankets, beds, and towels for all our patients. Given the size of our facility, with potentially over 20 loads of laundry a day, Ethan manages it all with a smile and a positive attitude. Additionally, he assists our Boarding team with walks and helps maintain the schedule for our Boarding pets. Part of what Ethan enjoys about working at our hospital is building relationships with our clients and patients. "Something that I always look forward to when coming to work is meeting the regular clients and pets. Building a relationship with the owners and pets makes me so happy!

In celebration of our July Employees of the Month, we are pleased to introduce Dr. Wong. Dr. Wong joined our veterinary team in the fall of 2013 after graduating from Cornell University's Veterinary School in Ithaca, NY. Since joining Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center, Dr. Wong has built a substantial patient following due to her empathetic and clear communication about patient care, as well as her advanced surgical skills. She is one of the few veterinarians on our team who can perform laparoscopic and gastropexy procedures, and often mentors other veterinarians in this area of surgery. Dr. Wong also takes the time to educate our staff, answering their questions and delivering presentations to enhance their understanding and knowledge in the veterinary field. We are honored to have Dr. Wong as a team member, and we appreciate her high level of patient care, compassion, and expertise. Thank you, Dr. Wong!

We are pleased to announce that Ethan and Dr. Wong have been nominated as our July Employees of the Month. These nominations are a direct result of input from our entire staff and serve as a clear reflection of the nominees' hard work, dedication, reliability, and high level of patient care.

Ethan is one of our hardworking Exam Room Assistants. Despite being one of our newer team members, Ethan has continuously demonstrated high levels of teamwork, patient care, and willingness to help where it is needed. As an Exam Room Assistant, Ethan ensures that all of our exam rooms are cleaned and prepared for the next appointment check-in. He greets our clients with a warm welcome, escorts them and their pets into the exam room, and learns more about why the pet is visiting the doctor, as well as if any additional tasks can be completed during their appointment. Ethan also plays a large role in ensuring that all our laundry is cleaned, stocked, and kept accessible to all our staff who may need blankets, towels, or bedding for a patient. Ethan plays a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day flow at Bishop Ranch is in place, and we are very appreciative of all the help he provides to our team!

Dr. Wong has been an integral part of our veterinary team for several years. She joined our team at Bishop Ranch in August of 2013 and has since become a mentor to our staff and new veterinarians, as well as a trusted guide to our clients and their pets. Dr. Wong is a skilled veterinarian who can perform various procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries and ultrasounds. A fascinating fact about Dr. Wong is that before joining our team, she spent time in the rainforests of Nicaragua studying the poison dart frog. Additionally, she lived and worked in rural villages in Tanzania for three months with the non-profit Support for International Change. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated veterinarian on our team!

Congratulations to both Ethan and Dr. Wong!

Today is a bittersweet day as we bid farewell to Angela, one of our Client Service Shift Leads. Angela has been a fixture at our front desk for over seven years, building strong connections with our clients and their pets. She has also been an exceptional leader and trainer for our team, always providing knowledge and support when needed. Angela, you have so much potential, and we can't wait to see where your journey takes you. We'll be rooting for you from a distance and wish you the best on your new adventure!

Highlighting our June Employees of the Month, we want to introduce you to one of our Boarding Assistants, Veronica! Veronica joined our team at Bishop Ranch four years ago and has held several different positions, ranging from Client Service Representative to Exam Room Assistant. She is also training to become a Treatment Assistant, although her main passion remains with our boarding pets! While under Veronica's care, our clients can rest assured that their furry family members are receiving the best care. She helps to ensure that each pet's individual needs are tailored to while boarding at Bishop Ranch, ensures needed medical treatments are completed, and provides updates to our clients while their pets are enjoying their boarding stay. When asked what is something you look forward to when you come to work? Veronica shared, "Seeing a familiar furry face!"

Before the month ends, we want to once more recognize our June Employees of the Month and introduce you to Dr. Cappelletti. Dr. Cappelletti began her career in the veterinary field several years ago at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center as a Client Service Representative. She worked hard to advance her position, moving from being an Exam Room Assistant to a Pharmacy Assistant. In pursuit of furthering her career, she completed her undergraduate degree at UCLA before graduating from the University of California Davis Veterinary School. In August of 2020, she rejoined our team at Bishop Ranch as a Veterinarian! Dr. Cappelletti appreciates the collaborative team at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center, stating, "We have such a wonderful and collaborative team that is always a pleasure to work with. No matter how much you love what you do, who you work with makes all the difference!"

We are very proud of our Veterinary Extern program and would like to highlight a recent extern, Paige. Paige is currently a student at UC Davis and is expected to graduate soon. We were lucky to have Paige join our team for two weeks, where she gained hands-on experience. During her time at Bishop Ranch, Paige assisted in our laboratory by collecting samples requested by our doctors. She also helped with placing IV catheters and learned about holistic medicine and treatments. Additionally, she had the opportunity to accompany Dr. Williams during an acupuncture appointment and witness the benefits of this type of treatment firsthand. We were delighted to have Paige join our team, even if only temporarily, and wish her the best back at UC Davis!

We were fortunate to have Carol join us at Bishop Ranch as a visiting Veterinary Extern for the past few weeks! She is enrolled in a veterinary program at Ohio State and is eager to gain more hands-on experience. Through our externship program, Carol gained experience in placing catheters, bandage placement, and x-ray interpretation. She also had the opportunity to oversee a few procedures with Dr. Wong and assist our Cardiologist, Dr. McDonald. We are excited to offer this type of program to veterinary students and help strengthen their passion for the veterinary field!
