This vet is awesome. I have brought my dogs here and have turned a few people in their direction. We can train on getting dogs desensitized on being at the vet and they really listen to your dog's needs.

Now that it's getting cooler walking time is about to get earlier and earlier with many more dogs out and about than before.

For some owners that's great no more struggling with booties or waking up at 5 am for a walk. For others the stress of walks is about to increase.

If you struggle with loose leash walking or leash reactivity now is the time to work through it!

Set up a free consultation today to get started on having a stress-free walk with your pup.

I wanted to share something one of my amazing clients shared with me:

Most of us have heard of sniffspot which is a great resource for reactive dogs to have an adventure, but I just learned some places even allow you to use their pools.

So if you have a reactive pup or simply want to take your pup swimming definitely check out using sniffspot for some great exercise and enrichment.

The pups had their wellness appointment on Monday, and despite knowing my dogs would do well because of their training I was beyond pleased with Revel Vet here in Queen Creek.

They were kind patient and extremely informative. They listened to me about different quirks of each pup and utilized the stuff i had taught them. If you're looking for a vet check them out!

Let's talk about 3 ways to prep for your dog for fireworks tomorrow.

1. Prep different enrichment and slow feeders.

I like to prep lickmats, toppls and Kong like feeders with a majority of my dogs food for the day. Then they go into the freezer so the pups are busy with them longer.

You can either let your dog's food soak in water to make a spreadable mush or use the canned version of their kibble.

2. Tire them out as much as possible right before dark.

This is the time to take them for a super long walk or play fetch for awhile. Be conscious of the of the heat but give them lots of physical play.

3. Have noises going on all day.

Not just the TV but turn on the bathroom vent and the stove top fan. Also pointing floor fans to blow towards the wall can help with the noise as well.

A note of safety! Make sure you have tags on your dog's collar and that their collar is on. Don't let them out into the backyard alone unless you know for sure they can't get out. I've seen some dogs jump pretty high. Lastly, even if you think your dog is okay around fireworks and you have them out with you make sure they remain on a leash attached to escape free collar. You never know when things could change for your dog or become too much. I hope you all have a fun and wonderful 4th!

We still have money for our Pinal County residents free spay/neuter program. It is for dogs only and you do have to provide proof of income. E-mail us at [email protected] for an application. A number of people have asked for applications and then never returned the proof of income so we can't complete their application. If you have any sort of government assistance or you are making less then $24 an hour you will be able to qualify. We are partnered with AZVet Direct for this program and as you can see their schedule is filling up very fast. Please share this with the other residents of Pinal County.
