If you thought bulldog breeders were crazy, ENGLISH mastiff breeders took their breeding it to an entirely different level of passion (craziness) me included. Pedigree was paramount above all else. DEER RUN lineage, in particular, was often viewed negatively in a pedigree during my time breeding, and only a handful of us were working without the influence of these lines.
When I entered the world of English bulldogs, pedigree still held some importance, but color began to dominate. With French bulldogs, the obsession with color became even more pronounced, with only a few breeders still focusing on pedigree.
Standard french bulldogs are the new rare color if you ask me.
