Structured Daycare Days in March + Exciting Updates!

- Exit Baths Now Available! We’ve added a fully functional grooming tub inside, just in time for mud season! We now offer exit baths for both boarding and daycare dogs. If you’d like your dog to go home fresh and clean with a bath and blow-dry, just let us know—we’ll add it to the schedule for $45.

- Daycare Drop-off & Pick-up Hours: Drop-off is 8:30–10 AM, and pick-up is 4–6 PM. These times remain the same to keep our structured routine running smoothly while the sun starts to rise earlier!

- Daycare protocol we like to follow is having all tools and leash on the dog upon arrival, we will come get the dogs from your car so no need to get out, and we will bring them out to you when you pick up!

- Our daycare days are structured with training, fulfilling exercise, and play in mind. We do try to include taking dogs for an off leash run, a treadmill session, coexisting bed stay, and a group play session with crate breaks in between. Our goal is to send a dog home satisfied and fulfilled, not exhausted.

Daycare is $50 a day and available to anyone who has completed a program with us.

Let us know if you’d like to book a day of daycare, spaces are limited, text Kay to reserve your dogs day at LED!!

We’ve been quiet this past week because the words have been impossible to find. Last week we said goodbye to Snow. He was more than just our dog—he was part of the foundation of our lives, our home, and Lake Erie Dogs itself.

Snow came into our lives ten years ago when Tom brought him home from the boarding facility he was working at. He had been biting the wire fence so desperately that his gums were bleeding. His past was unclear — his owner’s house had caught fire, and they never came back for him. Tom always joked that Snow started that fire, and if you knew Snow, you might just believe it.

Snow and Drax were instant brothers—not best friends, but bonded in a way that made sense only to them. Losing them both now makes this even harder to process. Snow was feisty, determined, and lived life entirely on his terms. As dog trainers, we could relate to a lot of our clients through Snow. He was never the most compliant, but that only made him more special—he reminded us every day that not all dogs are meant for work, some are just meant to be loved.

On walks, he was a Tasmanian devil. In play and socials, he was the most vocal—not out of aggression, just expression. He met thousands of dogs, and we can’t say he wanted to help, but because he coexisted and ignored their existence entirely he did help them. He had a few close friends he truly played with, and those moments—watching that spark in him—are something we will miss forever.

Snow was the best treat catcher. The best at tug, it was one of his favorite ways to play with us. He tolerated Griffin kindly and despised Birdie with his entire existence. He and Sasja took to each other like family from day one, and she has lost a little brother that she never asked for.

We are heartbroken. We’ve always been so proud of the life we gave him, from the little cottage sharing his space with new dogs every month to the home with five acres where he thrived, we always promised it would be worth it, and it was.

Snow is the white dog in our logo, and he always will be. He will forever be a part of Lake Erie Dogs, not just in memory, but in the very foundation of who we are.

We just ask for a little grace as we grieve. Our boy is gone, and our hearts are heavy.

Run free, Snow. You were so deeply loved.

A Thank You Letter 🤍 As we celebrate SIX incredible years of Lake Erie Dogs, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the unwavering support, love, and trust you’ve shown us. This milestone is so special, not just because of the number, but because of the journey we’ve shared with each of you—both the loyal friends who’ve been with us from the start and the new faces who’ve joined our growing family this past year.

Your belief in our mission to build better relationships between dogs and their humans fuels everything we do. Every training session, walk, and tail wag has strengthened not just skills but the bonds we hold dear. We’ve been privileged to be a part of your lives, to share in your challenges and triumphs, and to watch your dogs grow, thrive, and bring joy to your families.

This year has been even more meaningful as we prepare to welcome our second child, a little girl, into our family.

At Lake Erie Dogs, we offer just one program—WHY? Because it works.

After 6 years in business, we’ve narrowed in on exactly what changes lives.

Our proven 4-6 week board and train, combined with private one-on-one lessons for owners, has time and time again delivered superior results for lifelong success. This is how we like to do our job: with focus, purpose, and a process that sets both dogs and owners up for success.

Here’s how it works: 🐾

✨ Step 1: Free Consult Call
We start with a call after you complete our quick, informative questionnaire. Let’s talk about your dog, your goals, and how we can help!

✨ Step 2: Sign Up & Secure Your Spot
Sign the contract, pay a 10% deposit, and we’re ready to roll!

✨ Step 3: Private Lessons
We begin with monthly one-on-one lessons to build food drive, establish a strong foundation, and teach you how to start training at home.

✨ Step 4: Board & Train
Your dog stays with us for 4-6 weeks, where we focus on advanced off-leash obedience and building new, healthy habits. We keep it small—only 2-3 dogs at a time—so your pup gets the attention they deserve.

✨ Step 5: Midway Lesson
Around week 3, you join us for a midway lesson to practice hands-on with the tools and skills your dog has learned.

✨ Step 6: Take-Home Training
We bring your dog home and show you how to apply everything they’ve learned, ensuring a smooth transition back into your routine.

✨ Step 7: Ongoing Support
We’re not done yet! We include a follow-up lesson and welcome your dog back for boarding and daycare after training.

🎯 This process has proven time and time again to transform lives. We don’t just train dogs—we empower owners for lasting success.

Better Dog, Better Life.

Happy Holidays from Lake Erie Dogs! 🐾🎄

The holiday season is here, and we’re thrilled to be back doing what we love most—training dogs and supporting their humans.

Every year, we take a much-needed pause for our annual shutdown. This break is crucial for us to recharge, reconnect, and prevent burnout and compassion fatigue—real challenges in this industry we love so much. As a small, family-owned and operated business (with a thriving toddler keeping us on our toes), we believe it’s important to practice what we preach: balance, rest, and resilience.

Now that we’re back, we want to reintroduce ourselves—not just as Lake Erie Dogs, but as the people behind the name. In the coming weeks, you’ll see us showing up here on social media in a way that feels both informative and realistic. We’ll share valuable training tips, insights, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into our day-to-day work with the amazing dogs we serve.

We are passionate about what we do, but we also know our limits as a small business, and we’re so grateful for the understanding and support of this community.

Thank you for being here, trusting us with your pups, and being part of our Lake Erie Dogs family. Here’s to a joyful holiday season full of love, laughter, and lots of tail wags. 🐕✨

🎉 Happy 2nd Birthday to Griffin & Birdie! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating two of our youngest members of the pack – our son Griffin and everyone’s best friend, Birdie! 🐾

These two, born just a day apart, have equally changed our lives for the better and are truly a dynamic duo.

✨ Griffin is our right-hand little man. At just two years old, he’s already an essential part of Lake Erie Dogs, helping alongside us in daily operations. He takes feeding routines and cleaning protocols very seriously, specializing in bowl retrieval and treat delivery with unmatched focus and enthusiasm.

✨ Birdie is the life of the party. She’s everyone’s best friend, bringing belly laughs, gasps, and groans every single day.As dog trainers, Birdie reminds us of this truth: “You don’t get the dog you want, you get the dog you need.” She humbles us, challenges us, and makes us better trainers and people – literally every day.

Our days would be so bland without these two. They make life richer, funnier, and endlessly rewarding.

Happy Birthday, Griffin & Birdie – we are so thankful for the joy and light you bring into our lives! 🎂🐕❤️

Family Dog Training

We believe in creating a balanced relationship between owner and dog. The methods that we use revolve around balance and consistency. The success is shown through the work that we (owners and trainer together) put in.

We specialize in, off-leash remote collar training, which gives your dog a freedom most will never experience, but it all begins with treats and leash. We then use these tools as building blocks and aids to our success.

We are a positive first company which means we solidify all commands with positivity first. Giving owners a communication system that both you and your dog understand with a tool to back it all up.

We are always committed to going, the owner and the dogs, pace. That is why we offer unlimited support and do not put time restraints on individual lessons, or the amount of follow up and assistance, nor do we increase the cost of a board and train for extra needed time.
