If you need boarding or daycare for your dog while you participate in the IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio in City of Sandusky we’ve got spaces available! 🦮 The running course goes right down our road! 🏃🏻‍♀️🚴 🏊

It's hard to believe IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio is just over a week away! Next Sunday, July 23, we're excited to welcome more than 1,000 athletes, along with their friends and families, to Sandusky and the Shores & Islands Ohio area.
As we prepare for this great event, we want to make sure everyone is aware of the road closures that will be in effect for the race. People with properties along the course whose streets will be closed were mailed a traffic impact guide detailing the street closures. That guide is available at www.CityofSandusky.com/IRONMAN
The following lots/streets will close to vehicles in advance of the event this coming week (these areas will remain open to pedestrians for the entirety of the week):
1️⃣ Shelby Street Boat Launch Overflow Lot – Monday, July 17
2️⃣ Jackson Street Pier – Wednesday, July 19
3️⃣ Paper District Marina Lot – Thursday, July 20
4️⃣ 100 Blocks of Columbus Ave. & E. Water St. – Friday, July 21

Race day road closure info:
🔴 The streets in red on the map are the run course and will be closed to traffic Sunday from 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM. Any residents who live on these streets who will need to leave by vehicle during that time should plan to park their vehicle on an adjacent street the night before. Parking restrictions will go into effect at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 22 through 6:00 PM Sunday, July 23.
🟢 The streets in green are downtown access streets, and you can use these streets to get to areas within the Kilbourne Plat and downtown during the race.
🟣 The streets in purple are closed for the bike race from 6 AM - 1:30 PM on Sunday. Parking restrictions will go into effect at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 22 through 6:00 PM Sunday, July 23
🟠 The bike course will go out on Tiffin Ave. and Fremont Ave. out of the city limits to Sandusky County and back from 6:30 AM - 1 PM. Please drive very cautiously and expect delays if you are traveling during that time.

🗺️ Google Maps and Waze have been programmed with the race course information for that day and should be able to give detour directions based on the street closures.

Thanks for your patience navigating these road closures. We hope you can come out Sunday, July 23 to cheer on the athletes and give them a warm welcome to Sandusky.

After 2.5 weeks of walks, playing & running around outside she was due for a bath! Her white fur was gray! She got a fresh bath and a blowout today - look at how cute she looks! 😍🥰 SO FLUFFY!

A standard bath and blowout are included with long term stays but can be purchased as an add on service or as a repeat service between going to your groomer! Check out our services menu in the comments below 🧼 🐾

With our busy season upon us & new pups added to our pack, we just wanted to inform everyone of some updates & remind everyone of our policies🐶

The biggest thing has to do with payments. A lot of the popular payment apps, such as PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, etc are now charging fees to use for paying for services. Unfortunately, those fees are adding up so effective immediately, there will be a small charge to pay with these apps. Alternatively, if you wish to avoid paying fee’s, you can pay with cash, ApplePay & we now also offer Zelle.

The fee’s will be as follow:
🐾Venmo: There will now be a 2% fee to pay for services on Venmo.
🐾Cash App: There will now be a 2.75% fee to pay for services on CashApp.
🐾PayPal: There will now be a 3% fee to pay for services on PayPal.

🦮WALKS: Weekly invoices need to be paid prior to the start of the new week. I will try to get them out Friday evening but no later than Saturday morning to give everyone time to pay. Walks will be temporarily withheld if invoices aren’t paid.

🏠BOARDING: Any stay 7 or more days does require a nonrefundable deposit due at the time of booking & confirmation. This deposit will go towards the total cost for the stay. To be as accommodating as possible I can offer payments up until the time of boarding. However, the remainder is always due by the time of drop off for services to be rendered. Payments cannot be made for the deposit. As stated above, deposits are due in full at the time of booking.

BOARDING GENERAL INFO:
🐾We always try to keep our boarders on their usual daily schedules while boarding with us as closely as possible.
🐾Dogs are NEVER left unsupervised.
🐾Dogs are never walked outdoors unleashed. When outside playing they are supervised in our fenced backyard.
🐾We will never accept or tolerate any dog that shows any type of aggression. We vet which dog that stay in our home very carefully. A meet and greet, trial daycare visit and paperwork is all REQUIRED prior to any boarding or daycare stay.
🐾We never feed any dog human foods unless okayed by their owner, we never feed them any treats or dog food outside of what they come with unless okayed by their owner. We know which human foods are dangerous to dogs and we never feed dogs anything considered dangerous, ever. No exceptions.
🐾We are able to administer medications.
🐾Dogs who stay with us 7 days or more automatically get a bath & blow out before going home.
🐾Stays always include easy contact with us and daily updates, picture & videos.
🐾We are a family home & all dogs who stay with us are friendly & must be okay with other dogs and children.
🐾While we don’t crate dogs regularly during their stay, we do require them to be crate trained or ask the owner to provide an alternative (padded crate, doggy fence, etc.) for those rare instances that we both need to be away from the house for a short period of time.

🐩 LASTLY, we are always looking to add onto our dog walking pack! If you refer someone to us and they book regular recurring walks, you get a FREE walk in return!

❄️Dog walks for the rest of the day, Friday Feb. 5th, are cancelled❄️ . . Not only is it 19 degrees outside and windy - there is new ice all over the already not very cleared sidewalks. 🥶 So, unfortunately (so I don’t fall on my bum😆) I am cancelling walks. . . Late next week is expected to be VERY very cold with highs for the day only in the teens. We will notify everyone before their scheduled walks if we decide to cancel those days. 🐾 . . 🐾COVID-19 UPDATE🐾 Because we are an in home business, we still do not feel comfortable opening up all of our services at this time. This uncertain time has effected many of us small businesses and we appreciate your support where you are able to offer it! At this time the only service we will be able to offer is dog walking. We are opening up no contact, backyard pickup for dog walking. This service will be for Sandusky only. We have enforced many precautions to ensure a safe pick up and drop off to be able to still offer dog walking. The new rules for all dog walking services at this time are as follow, but not limited to: We will provide and use our own leash and poop bags. Please have your dogs collar or harness on them & ready to go for backyard pick up at the time of their walk. We will take care of the rest. We will have sanitizer with us and will sanitize the metal hooks of your dogs collar and/or harness at the start and end of each walk. All of our equipment is also sanitized after each walk & ready to go for the next. I will wear a mask during dog walks, including at pick up and drop off. However, we still ask that you practice social distancing for this service. You or a family member are welcome to wait with your dog until we arrive or wave to us from inside but we ask that you please do not hand them off to us when we come for pick up. Please allow us to come to the dog and attach our own leashes ourselves. If we can not safely enter your backyard to pick up your dog we will not be able to offer dog walks for you at this time. We will not be able to come inside of any part of your house to pick up or drop off for dog walks. This is a no contact service. For everyone’s safety and to prevent spread of germs, we can not come into any homes or assisted living facilities, etc. at this time. When we are on our way you will receive a text so that you know when we are coming and you don’t need to wait around. We will do the same when we are on

Who We Are...

We are Kate & Chris Croom - dog lovers and owners of K.C. and Company! Kate has always been a dog lover but struggled with leaving her dog at a cold, scary kennel while vacationing. Worrying that her dog was confused why she left him, wondering if he was getting enough attention and hoping he wasn’t too uncomfortable in a hard kennel. Dogs deserve love, attention and room to run and play... ya know, to be a dog! In March 2018 Kate decided to quit her full time Graphic Design job to try her hand at starting an in-home, kennel free dog service! Her hope was to give owners, like herself, reassurance that their dog was being spoiled and loved while they were away. Now, Kate & her two dogs - Sebastian and Zola - host dogs in their home, kennel free. Kate’s husband, Chris, is a full time teacher at Sandusky City Schools and helps out part time at K.C. and Company Dog Services when his schedule allows.

All of our services (daycare, kennel free boarding and dog walking) are very customized and only a limited number of daycare dogs and boarders are accepted at a time. This is to ensure safety and quality of care for all dogs during their Pup-cation! Located just 2 minutes from downtown Sandusky, Ohio and Lake Erie. Cedar Point is just a 15 minute drive away!

Kate also makes handmade dog collar bandana’s. Many of the dogs who “pup-cation” with K.C. and Company go home with new dog swag from Kate. All bandana’s are reversible, double layer fabric which lay nicely on your dogs neck. Each bandana is hand sewn and no two are exactly alike. Dog collar bandana’s slide onto your dogs existing collar, making them not only safe for dogs but also owner friendly... no tying! Bandana’s are available for sale in our Facebook Shop on our Home page!
