Today is Give!Guide kick off day!!!!!

We are very honored to be accepted into Willamette Week’s Give!Guide once again this year and so thankful for this opportunity. In particular, Aggie wants to thank Give!Guide for the lawn signs, they are delicious

No matter where you live you can give to Zeb's Wish directly through Give!Guide here https://giveguide.org/nonprofits/zebs (if you do not want to give through the campaign, for one reason or another, we of course accept donations here on facebook or on our website www.zebswish.org)

Give!Guide is Portland's easiest path to end-of-year giving. The campaign begins on November 1 and closes at midnight December 31. Last year’s campaign raised $8.35 Million for 250 local nonprofits.

There are prizes and incentives for giving especially on Big Give Days which are pretty amazing. Check out the schedule https://giveguide.org/big-give-days. The minimum gift to be entered to win is $10. Give $100 and we will have it matched through our generous donation match up to $1500.

Give $1000 or more anytime and receive a glamping stay at Zeb's Wish! All who donate (age 21 plus) receive a free full-flight wine tasting at our neighbor, Alder Tree Vineyard. Couple that with a stay at Zeb's and you have the perfect weekend!

Whats more fun than Mini Horses and an outdoor brew pub in early Fall? Well… when both happen at the same time like yesterday when Traci Barnes and Jack Ooley brought Loki (former Zebs rescue) and Finn to Bent Shovel Brewing for a visit. We were having so much fun i only got these photos of the good bye apple slices we got to dole out just as they were leaving.

Jack and Jill got their feet tidied up today with the fabulous Amira and they were little angels!
Now that they are on proper feeding and care with foster momma Bridget, we are optimistic that we will get them feeling tip top sooner than later.

If you haven't listened to this episode of compass conversations yet. Such a lovely group of people who lift each other up in the most beautiful way!

Getting in touch with myself, and also being really honest with myself about what is my motivation in this scenario, is really important to me.

I can have a certain thought in my head, but somewhere deep down, there's some kernel that may not be authentic. There's some kernel there of me wanting something to happen and I like to be totally honest with myself and aware of that kernel.

Episode #17 - Horses as Inspiration

What is it about our connection with horses that inspires so many to get curious about ourselves?

Many of us place all of our focus on the horse - we put equipment on the horse, do things to the horse, try to get something from the horse, look for problems to fix within the horse. In all of this doing, we forget to include ourselves in the relationship.

We may fall into dominating patterns, applying pressure to our horses and to ourselves without fully realizing our internal motivations, needs or blind spots.

But there is a burgeoning community that is beginning to look at things differently. Today’s episode begins with this acknowledgement, that humans are part of the relationship.

Horses have become our great teachers. They open up big, beautiful windows into our souls, allowing us to peek in and remember the wisdom of awareness. When we release stories that serve fear and judgment, we create space for self-illumination. We become available for connections that serve the heart. What would happen if I let each person (or horse) be exactly who they are - without a story attached? What would happen if I gave that grace to myself?

Join us as we explore these profound questions and follow the horse down a path of self illumination and awareness. If we are brave enough to look beneath our fears and see what’s really there, we can unlock boundless joy, gratitude, and potential.

We had a wonderful visit with the folks from ‘Empowered Fulfillment Therapy’ a few days ago. They had a wellness retreat up near Mount Hood and part of it was a stopover at Zeb’s Wish to visit with the animals. It never ceases to amaze me how the bray of a donkey or just the calm presence of horses can bring about peace and calmness within ourselves. I think with this group it was reciprocal as from the picture you can see that Katy wished they could stay forever.

Due to the forecast of strong thunderstorms and heavy rain in Sandy and the Cascade foothills, we have decided to reschedule the event for tomorrow, Sunday. (Ticket Sales will remain open for those who have not purchased yet.)

Being that it is a Sunday, we are moving the start time to 4:00 PM and will conclude by 8:00 PM. Aside from the earlier schedule, everything else remains the same, including Zeb's Wish Tour, dinner, music, silent auction, and our famous wine wall with 80 bottles (average value of $38—WOW!).

Given the weather forecast, we assessed the risks and determined that the best-case scenario would be a rainy event, while the worst-case scenario could require us to cancel and send everyone home due to lightning with no option to reschedule. We hope you can adjust your plans and join us tomorrow for what promises to be a pleasant 70-degree day at the vineyard—much better than dodging thunderstorms!
