SHORT-TERM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for reliable and honest hard-working individual(s) who can help us organize our storage unit! This position does not involve direct interaction with animals.
Duties include separating out and storing similar items that are used in rescue functions. Items include decorations, lights, heaters, enclosures, and miscellaneous supplies. Some items will need to be cleaned - these can be taken home to be washed and brought back to be stored the following day. During the organizing process the volunteer(s) will take inventory of how many/what kinds of items we have. Along with separating and storing items we ask that the volunteer(s) also organize the layout of the storage unit to allow for ease of maintenance and future access. A handful of items will be deemed garbage/unusable, so please bring a few trash bags to discard those items. Garbage can be left at the unit if volunteer(s) do not wish to throw it away - we will dispose of it.
This position will best be performed with a group of individuals. This is a great opportunity for friends or family to work together to complete service hours needed for school//clubs/etc.
The storage unit is located in Sandy, volunteers MUST have reliable transportation to and from the unit. On the first day I will meet with the volunteer(s) to go over what we are looking to have done, orient everyone to what the items are and how to organize them, and answer any questions. From there the volunteer(s) are on their own to do help us out! We are happy to sign off volunteer service hour sheets for however long the volunteer(s) take to get the unit clean. It is just fine if the volunteer(s) do small chunks over the span of a few days. On the last day the volunteer(s) will need to drop off the storage unit key to a staff member’s house in Sandy.
Volunteer(s) must text Angela when they get to and leave the unit so we can keep track on our own ends of things!

This slithery friend is here to remind everyone that if you have extra feeders to donate or can pick up extra groceries we are always in need of food donations! Various greens, veggies, treats, live insects, and frozen rodents make babies’ tummies full and happy! Thank you! 🐍💗
This handsome boy came in to us with quite a large mass on his lower jaw. We haven't seen anything quite like it! There was a question if it was an abscess or cancer, luckily our amazing vet Dr. Moss gave it a look over and said it was an abscess. Draining it would not be the best option as it would likely fill back up, so we opted for surgery to completely remove scrape out the pus and fill the area with antibiotic beads before closing him up.
He has healed very well from his operation and is already chowing down on his bugs and greens! He is a very sweet boy and are sure he will make a great pet once he's all healed up!
His vet bills came out to just under $500. If any of you are able to donate towards the cost it would help out the animals a lot! We have been getting a large influx of animals coming in this time of year so any donation means that much more to us, and allows us to continue taking in and helping these sweet babies. We are getting lots of animals coming in this time of year which means we’re needing more fosters! We match animals to fosters we feel best will be able to meet their care needs, if you haven’t heard back from us yet it means we haven’t found the right match for you! We are especially needing fosters for bearded dragons.
Fosters must be 18+. Residence must allow you to keep reptiles. We ask that fosters cover cost of food and animal maintenance. Fosters must have reliable transportation to Sandy and Layton, UT. We will provide everything for the enclosure including lights and decorations.

We want to thank everyone who came over to see us at the Wasatch Reptile Expo! It is always great seeing familiar faces and meeting new people! Adoptable bearded dragons!
I have a transport headed up to Utah this weekend. If any of you up there would like to adopt Mushu or Cooper, let me know soon. A transport means no shipping costs/stress. Win-win.

Days like these are always hard. Over the weekend we had a ball python surrendered to us with extreme burns that lead to sepsis. The majority of her belly was affected, with a large portion near the middle completely peeling away to expose the muscle underneath. Her tail was necrotic. She was also quite underweight, lethargic, and smelled of infection. We made the difficult decision alongside our vet to humanely euthanize her as we agreed she was badly suffering.
Thank you sweet girl for coming into our lives if for a brief moment, and thank you to the staff and Dr. Moss at Kaysville Veterinary Clinic for being such a huge help in what we do.

Wasatch Exotics Rescue is looking for fosters! We are in great need of leopard gecko and especially bearded dragon fosters. We would prefer if you already had a 40 gallon Breeder tank available for use for beardies, or a 20 gallon long for leos, as we are running low on extra tanks. We will provide anything else required for the enclosure as needed.
Must have reliable form of transportation! Foster responsibilities include feeding animal, cleaning the enclosure, driving to appointments (vet/adoption), biweekly check-ins, and giving the animal lots of love! Must be 18+ to foster.
Alternatively, if you have a 40 gallon Breeder or a 20 gallon long you can donate to the rescue we would greatly appreciate it!

Adoption Ready!
Elliott is a 4.5 year old male bearded dragon. He has such a curious personality and loves to explore his surroundings. If something catches his eye he will run right after it! Once play time is over he is a snuggle bug. The best way to his heart is through food.
