We are working on shifting to a hornless herd. Gatsby is the sire of the quads that were born a couple days ago (so you can see he makes some pretty babies and can pass on that flowery pattern!)

We DNA Tested her hoping Gatsby was her sire. Unfortunately, the testing has proved that he is not so we have decided to let her go as a commercial myotonic. She is full myotonic but we want to focus on a 100% registered herd. She will make an amazing pet. She was partially bottle fed and pretty social.

We let momma and kids out this morning. The little ones were running and hoping around enjoying the space.

I was the one doing chores this morning so I got the new kid snuggles. Amy was almost spot on with dry weights. I weighed them this morning.

#1 3.75lbs black and white
#2 4.84lbs black and white moonspots
#3 4.52lbs brown and white
#4 4.86lbs brown

I also repurposed an insulated nalagene holder as a bottle carrier. None of the kids wanted much and I saw them actively feeding on more. Maleficent is a good mom.

Somehow, against all odds, Maleficent gave us not only quads, ... all four are girls. We will get better pictures once everybody is dry and there is better light tomorrow

I am taking Moo in for instinct testing on birds tomorrow. She will decide to have them while I am gone with her... or just before we are supposed to head to an event this weekend because 🤣

Malficent is still holding her hostages. She is at day 150 today!

Babies are sired by Starfall Hollow Gatsby, a lovely moonspotted and flowery pattern buck. Gatsby is in search new does as well.

You can see what the pedigree of these kids will look like below.

Wallylama's Magic Touch / Percy got mail while we were gone. Unfortunately, the hosting club for the gun dog specialty did not offer new title rosettes. We used as an excuse to support our friends at Vivid Award Studios (and we are thrilled with the job they did!)

(each of the dogs has a color for gear. Percy is primarily orange with blue accents so this was perfect).
