Zoomies Funny Farm

Zoomies Funny Farm Zoomies Funny Farm is a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on animal welfare initiatives. Welcome to Zoomies! We're so glad you're here. We want to help!

Please let us introduce ourselves. Founded in October 2023, Zoomies Funny Farm was established to help address the growing need for local animal rescue, foster, and adoption. Specifically, Zoomies is focused on the fostering aspect. We aim to lessen the burden on other shelters and rescues by providing a safe and (mostly) temporary alternative to animal surrender. We are aware of a number of issue

s that can lead to even the most well loved and well cared for animals to end up in shelters. Transient homelessness brought about by natural disasters, victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse seeking refuge from their abusers, military training and deployment, and even owners undergoing surgery or other long term treatments for medical issues- all of these things can make caring for a family pet an infeasible hardship. We want to lessen the struggle and to provide those faced with such challenges a different path. By offering these animals a place to stay while their humans navigate some of life’s difficulties, we not only prevent further overcrowding at the shelters, but hopefully, we can offer their families some hope and peace of mind by knowing their pet will be loved and well cared for until they are ready to be reunited. Additionally, Zoomies plans to provide a more permanent home for a few current shelter animals who because of their temperament or complex medical and behavioral needs would otherwise be deemed unadoptable. Long term care of these animals in a sanctuary based setting such as Zoomies Farm will offer them the best quality of life, and the constant hands-on approach to monitoring, training, and rehabilitating these animals will help keep them happy and safe.

Meet Radar! The Pilot's Pet of the Weeek is a stunning 3-year-old, 60-pound bully boy who despite his stoic appearance is a marshmallow at heart. All he wants is to be near his people, chase a ball, or splash around in a pool. He thrives on affection, travels wonderfully in the car, and is a true gentle giant. Radar would make the perfect gym bro, hiking partner or snuggle buddy. He is a low-key guy who asks very little of his humans for all the love he gives in return. To adopt Radar, or to inquire further, contact Rogue Rescue at [email protected] or message us on social media.

In case you wanted to enjoy the cuteness overload of our current personal pack.

We often joke that we had a rescue before we had a rescue- an assortment of babies collected over many years and many locations.

Now we get the pleasure of helping even more animals find their forever homes and get the vet care they need. But these little monsters are all ours- always and forever!

🥰😍🥰

We’ve blocked out their name for privacy, but we gotta admit- when we got this thank you card recently, it felt really good.

It was super cute, and obviously handmade.

But what makes it so special, and what makes it (and all the other amazing gifts and thank you cards that we’ve gotten) feel so nice is that when we started Zoomies, we weren’t initially thinking about helping people. We were thinking about helping the animals.

It’s so obvious to us now, but at the onset- it wasn’t.

But the people who contact us and reach out for assistance are doing so because they care, because it hurts them to see animals suffering or in need. By helping the animals, we are helping the people who care about them. And as we’ve seen from this card and many, many others- it matters. It makes a difference.

And it’s why it’s become a part of our messaging.

We’re proud that Zoomies is able to do so much to help not only the animals, but the people in our community.

So thank you all! Because it’s your support, your donations, and your contributions that help us be the helpers!

We freaking love you guys!

Oh you know, just dropping off some cute little kittens at their new Alley Cats and Angels of NC foster and then driving home from Durham at 11 pm on a random Wednesday night.

Don’t worry, it’s not like we have to be up by 6 am to drop off some other cats at the Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC……. Oh wait 🙃

And yet, it’s worth it.

Thank you Princess Marie Brewer for agreeing to help us with this surprise delivery of kittens.
We’re eternally grateful!

Courtesy Post:

These two beautiful brindle boxer mixes are Danielle and Tango, and both girls are looking for a new home. They were adopted by their previous family from two different shelters (in Charlotte and Asheville) before making their way to Sanford. (The caretaker has reached out to both rescues without hearing back yet.)

I don’t know much about them except that their humans somehow became homeless, and then a kind hearted person agreed to look after them for the short term. Short term became long term, and now months later, I’m told the family has a new place and doesn’t even want them back. Instead they went and got a new puppy to replace them.

I know, right?

So the Good Samaritan now has two more dogs that she didn’t intend to have and doesn’t know what to do. They’re both about 2 years old, spayed and currently up to date on shots (though it will be time for their annual exams again soon). They aren’t fond of cats, and we’re not sure how they are with other dogs.

The current caretaker does have pets of her own, but didn’t feel safe enough to try to introduce them without help. She said Danielle is a total swetheart though, and that Tango, while a bit more shy to start, also turns into quite the cuddlebug once she realizes she’s safe.

I don’t think they’re a bonded pair, so they wouldn’t necessarily have to go together. But if you could all share and help us try to find them a home, we’d certainly appreciate it.

I’ve suggested a few boxer specific rescues to the caretaker, and we’re helping to network as much as we can, but we’re open to ideas.

If you’re interested in adopting or helping or know someone who is, please send me a message.

My gosh, friends!

We just wanted to take a moment to thank all the kind and generous people who have already gotten their raffle tickets! We're beyond excited about the progress we're making, and we're thrilled to be booking vendors and food trucks for the live drawing event already!

I know the sales pitches might seem a bit repetitive to some of you, but please keep in mind 2 things.

1.) I'm a toddler pretending to be an adult.
*How many tickets have we sold?
*How much longer until the event?
*How many tickets have we sold?
*Are we there yet?

I kinda can't help it. And.....

2.) For each post I make about our goal to sell more raffle tickets, we probably get at least 3 or 4 requests for help from the public about animals in need.

We want to be able to help, but we need the funds to do it.
This raffle is our attempt at a fun, engaging event that raises money for Zoomies- so that we can help you, your neighbor, your coworker, or anyone that reaches out.

So if you wanna be part of the fun and part of the solution- get your ticket here: https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/reverse-5050-extravaganza

And thank you!

Thank you for caring about the animals and people in our community. :)
