🐾 Meet Lenny! He was in today for a checkup 🐾 Lenny was such a good boy and we don’t get to see this breed very often so we wanted to show him off. Here are some interesting facts about his breed.

The Leonberger is a large, majestic dog breed known for its friendly and gentle temperament. Originating from Germany, the breed was developed in the 19th century by crossing Saint Bernards, Newfoundlands, and Great Pyrenees. Here are some key characteristics of the Leonberger:

1. **Size and Appearance**: Leonbergers are large dogs, with males typically weighing between 110-170 pounds and females between 90-140 pounds. They have a distinctive lion-like mane, a dense double coat that is water-resistant, and a mask-like face. Their coat colors range from yellow, red, reddish-brown to sandy.

2. **Temperament**: Leonbergers are known for being gentle giants. They are friendly, affectionate, and good with children and other pets. They are also intelligent and eager to please, making them relatively easy to train.

3. **Exercise Needs**: Due to their size and energy levels, Leonbergers require regular exercise. They enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and swimming and benefit from having a spacious yard to roam.

Running into my wellness exam at SAH like While we try our best to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible we do get a little backed up sometimes being a walk in clinic. Our tips to a quick visit: - avoid 2pm! This is our busiest time - bring previous vaccine and medical records to your visit if we have not seen your pet before - do not wait until Friday afternoon to be seen for a medical problem that has been ongoing - be kind! Everyone here is doing all they can to get your pet seen in a timely fashion. - Call the clinic before coming in to see how busy we currently are We love being a walk in clinic for our community and we hope these tips and tricks help to make your next visit an amazing one!
