This mare is an OTTB who is dealing with NPA and sub clinical caudal failure. These issues are very common in race horses but are extremely detrimental to the function of the entire body. Removing the shoes and applying anatomically correct trimming methods we can restore the hoof to ideal function.
The amazing owner of this horse is doing a fantastic job with her diet and hoof care outside of my trimming, which is a huge portion of what it takes to rehabilitate the hoof. She is on a 4 week schedule and has only been through 2 cycles so far although
we are seeing great progress already.
