We are delighted to announce a new sponsorship from Central Carolina Hospital for the market’s “Art Meets Ag” event series once we are located in the Sanford Agricultural Marketplace!
Central Carolina Hospital will be the presenting sponsor of the market’s event series starting in 2026, including concerts and performances, health and wellness events, and other special and holiday events throughout the year. The sponsorship will go into effect during the first full year the market has relocated to its new home across Charlotte Avenue at the future Sanford Agricultural Marketplace facility.
In recognition of CCH’s sponsorship, Dave Santoemma, Chief Executive Officer of Central Carolina Hospital, joined the SFM board of directors at the market on Saturday, Aug. 10, to celebrate the announcement of this partnership as well as experience one of the market’s special events this year, “Pepper Palooza!”
“This is an exciting partnership between two organizations that are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for residents of Sanford and Lee County,” Santoemma said. “CCH is delighted to join with the Farmer’s Market in offering community events and activities that will help fulfill our mission of ‘making communities healthier.’” The gathering was also a celebration of National Farmers’ Market Week (August 4-10), a national event recognizing the essential role that farmers’ markets play in supplying our communities access to fresh, locally grown produce and supporting a food system that works better for farmers and their communities.

For those who have offered prayers and concern ….. Gretas surgery was successful. She is healing well and feeling pretty good. Pathology showed the cancer had not spread so no further treatment is needed. Thanks to God and everyone else cheering her on. She will see you all in March or April ❤️ 🍓 🙏

Stop by the farm stand for some yummy produce! This is what we’ve got available today. The strawberries will be hit or miss for the next few days then gone until March or April. Everything else will hang on till about August. All the peaches are “clingfree” from here on out. These are “Carolina Belle” (big, white peaches) and “Norman” (smaller, regular color). Bring small change. We are winging it for the rest of the season!

We still have strawberries ….. and tomatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes …… but as the season comes to an end our jobs and needs change. We won’t be able to man the stand daily for long periods of time as other things need our attention more-so now. We will continue to pick strawberries as long as we have them and put them inside the building with our other produce for you. Please bring small monies as there may not be a person there to make change. We will continue to post regular updates on this page as to when other produce comes available, too. Come see us at the Pittsboro Farmers Market on thursdays from 3pm - 6pm and the Sanford Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 8am -Noon. We’ve enjoyed seeing you all this Spring & hope to see you out and about throughout the rest of the year. 2025 season should start in April. Please help us to spread the word. This native Leaf Cutter Bee 🐝 was so cold this morning it couldn’t even move. When we found it we brought it inside near the heater until it felt well enough to fly back into the sunny berry patch and do its job pollinating the strawberry 🍓 blossoms so the berries dont look like this crooked one. We all need to save the bees.

We’re making it rain to cool the berries down. Overhead irrigation in ten to fifteen minute intervals will help to save the strawberries so that we all have some for the next couple weeks. #manitshotoutthere 🍓 🌞 🌡
Tuesdays are our Mondays. Today was no exception. We almost forgot to draw the winning names from the Mothers Day give-a-way. Jose was willing to do ot (on film 😉) just before we closed for the night. Congratulations to Sue, Tammy, Jerri, Vicki and Melissa Tate.
