Feets!

Babies are opening their eyes. More breedings are done. Some rabbits are newly granded. It's been a good weekend.

We are downsizing to move. I have two proven does that I'm considering moving on. Green Herb's Pretty Woman and Green Herb's Rogue are just over a year and a half old and have out-produced themselves. Both are fully pedigreed and properly marked. Green Herb's Rogue is out of the 2022 convention BoB winner. Green Herb's Pretty Woman is out of the Best Junior from the same convention. They could also go as a trio. Available bucks are Green Herb's Newton and Green Herb's Mario. Newton is an Intermediate buck. He's registered and has two legs. He is out of Rogue. Mario is just under 2 years old. He has a spot at the tip of his ear. He earned two legs before developing the spot but wasn't registered. He shares a sire with Pretty Woman. I have shows planned in Enoree, SC and Newton, NC in the next couple of months. I also have some travel planned for West Virginia and will work with transport.

Due to an upcoming move and some other life events, we haven't shown much this year. We've managed to get out for a couple of local shows recently though. Green Herb's Einstein was BISS at a rare breed show in Smithfield, NC recently. Some of the other Blanc de Hotots and a couple of Rex managed to pick up some wins as well. New Hotot juniors made an appearance at Blacksburg, VA and had some fantastic comments. It was just us though so no new bling. There was a fantastic showing of Rex at both shows. We picked up a couple BOV/BOS wins against some stiff competition. Kathryn Layne Davis and Catie Bolze went on to win RISs at Smithfield and Claire Burns went on to win BIS in Blacksburg.

I have 3 fibromelanistic roosters that are likely homozygous but not guaranteed. They are pretty barnyard mixes. They've gotten along but at a year old are starting to get more snippy with each other. One is the obvious flock protector. They aren't aggressive, just standoffish. The protector will observe when I handle the hens. The other two hide in the coop. We're moving, the hens have already moved but the new flock already has a rooster. All three are looking for new coops and can be at Eastern Carolina RBA Smithfield show Memorial weekend.

Raised by the same mom, the Blanc de Hotot baby is one day younger. The Rex will probably reach its senior weight faster. The Blanc de Hotot will end up bigger but take longer to get there. Both make great commercial breeds for meat and fur with my Rex lines generally being calmer than my Hotot lines. That's not the case across the board and varies per animal.

We didn't do great this show but we had fun and spent time with friends.

We're going to slow down on showing for a while, probably for about a year. We'll take the time to focus on breeding and just attending a few local shows while we move a few states away. Life has also created a time for focusing on work and school. Currently the only shows we have a plan for are the Queen City RBA New Year's show and the CHRBA Rabbits and Roses show. We're formulating a plan for Blanc de Hotot Nationals. We look forward to seeing you all soon. ~Jen

This buck is out of GC parents and has 2 BOS legs of his own. He was born in Dec. He's from my Sables and shouldn't carry dilute. Chocolate is a very small possibility. Otter is unlikely but possible. He should be genetically black, possibly steel. - he has found a new rabbitry

This doe is granded including a Specialty BISS and can be available at convention. She currently has a stain on one side and is a bit molty. She does carry dilute and is most likely genetically black with the possibility of steel. - She has found a new rabbitry.

Green Herb's Dr Donna had a great day at the Carolina Highlands RBA show yesterday. She won 2 BOBs, earning her Grand Champion leg. Dr Donna previously had 3 Junior legs from the same show last year.
