Avaree - 2022 filly by One Sweet Jess oo Secret Famous Lady who’s by Hez Our Secret oo One Famous Lady (Dam to One Famous Eagle)🤩

12 rides off the track and although we will be trotting for quite a while, this was her first day trotting through the barrels💕 This girl has a lot of play to her and is super intense but won my heart reallll fast. Definitely a weapon but a total sweetheart too! We all know I love my spicy red heads💃🏼 So blessed and thankful to have her in my barn!!

I haven’t had an open training hole in a long while but I will have 1 mid January as my waitlist decided to hold off a couple more months. I specialize in C**t starting, patterning, finishing, and hauling. Shoot me a message if I can help!

Todays tip!

➡️Your horse is allowed to have a bad day. So are you. If either is… don’t pick a fight, don’t work the barrels, heck, it’s ok to even turn around and turn them back out. 😅

They are living beings and not everyday is going to be 100% effort. That’s OK. Don’t make something from nothing.

THE REAL DEFINITION OF HUMILITY

Society will try to convince you that "humility" is about living small...

Thinking small...

Acting small...
..and concealing your wins to avoid hurting someone else's feelings.

Nonsense.

This is a false interpretation of humility that's been weaponized to keep you from going out and taking massive action to become who you were meant to become.

Understand that real humility has nothing to do with sacrificing your potential to live within the boundaries and limitations of the people around you.

Real humility is knowing that no matter how great you become...

You will always have more to learn and improve on.

Real humility is knowing that no matter how many people you beat...

You will never be "better" than anybody else.

Real humility is knowing that the results you've produced are a reflection of the actions you've taken…

Not because you have some special talent or skill that nobody else has.

How other people choose to react to your wins and success is irrelevant.

Real humility is knowing that other people are just as good as you if not better.

They just haven’t taken action.

You have.

You do.

Every day.

Like your life depends on it.

Because it does.

Learn what it actually means to be humble...

Then go out and build the biggest, most successful life you possibly can.

We didn’t make it to the BFA but super proud of my 4 year old today 💕 she may have 90 days on the barrels tops and she steps up every time we go out. Not too shabby for being off late summer/early fall for OCD removal surgery! We’re gonna keep expoing and gaining confidence for a bit but she will make her debut here soon!🎉😍

As it’s the time of year that a lot of young ones are getting ready to start their hopeful barrel racing career, consider this as you plan out their next few years—

There will always be an exception to the rule.

However, most trainers will agree that foundation is everything.

We need the correct start on a c**t.
We need consistent, correct pattern work.

Some horses will come along faster than others.
Some horses will train easier than others.

Typically, it takes a barrel futurity trainer 12-18 months to get a c**t ready to enter.

These futurity horses with the correct foundation and pattern work tend to have long successful careers.

When we ask them to come along too quickly and add too much pressure they come undone in most cases.

We can ask a horse to step up, but need to understand that usually it’s 2 steps forward and 1 step back.

You can speed one up and see where they are, but you will need to slow them back down to keep it all together.

It is more than just “horse training”.

Earn their trust.

It is building a relationship.

It is being a horseman that communicates effectively with the horse.

It is reading personalities and understanding body language.

It is being present and being able to modify your methods to fit each horse.
