Mission Viejo Clients - please be aware of your surroundings and DO NOT leave your pets unattended outside under any circumstances!

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center (MVAS) has confirmed reports of a mountain lion sighting in Mission Viejo near the cross streets of Los Alisos Boulevard and Via Noveno, and MVAS officers are currently tracking movements and posting signs in the vicinity. The OCSD - Mission Viejo Police Services has been advised and California Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel are monitoring the situation.

Mountain lions hunt deer, which live in the surrounding area, as well as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, opossums, rodents, rabbits, etc. They do not typically prey on domestic animals unless an opportunity arises. These cats are solitary, elusive and usually avoid humans as much as possible.

Stay safer by remembering to:

• Be aware.
• Don’t walk alone, bring a friend.
• Wear bright and highly contrasting clothing.
• Watch for signs and trail postings.
• Avoid jogging or mountain biking in low light conditions at dusk and dawn.
• Stay on the trail.
• Supervise children, and keep them within arm’s reach.
• Keep pets on a secure leash.
• Keep pets indoors.
• Don’t approach any wild animal.
• Give wildlife the time and space to steer clear of you.
• Try to look as large as you can and do not crouch down if you see a mountain lion.

Mountain lions are helpful in maintaining order in our ecosystem and assist to keep other wildlife numbers in check. If you encounter a mountain lion, report the sighting immediately to Mission Viejo Animal Services at 949-470-3045 or the Orange County Sheriff's Department at 949-770-6011.

Happy May everyone!

After today's earthquake, we thought it migh be a good reminder to check your earthquake kits, for both you and your pets.

While you are gone, we will oversee your pet's care before and after natural disasters, check to make sure all pets are accounted for, nothing has fallen in your home and trapped them, etc.

Some things to keep in our earthquake kit:
Food and bottled water
Medications
Dishes
Towels
Picture of pet
Vet records (specifically vaccinations)

We love taking care of this "bully"!

While he's an English Bulldog, he's still considered a bully. His mom has been having meetings after work, so we're happy to drop in, feed him dinner, and take him on his "very short walk" (he pretty mich pees and runs right back into the house).

Michelle (who takes care of all the socials) is in tax season from January to mid-May. So she's been a little preoccupied.

Asher is a short haired gray and white kitty who likes to hang out with other cats! He loves to explore new places and things, and greets you at the door when you come home. You’ll often find him napping anywhere cozy – blankets, cat beds, on top of you! Asher has blossomed in his foster home and is now a dedicated lap cat. He loves to be close to his humans and often sleeps on their laps or next to them. He loves to play with spring toys and bats them around the house! He can be a little sensitive at times so he’d be a great kitty in an adult only home!

You CANNOT secure your travel dates until your meet and greet has been completed, you've been onboarded into the computer system, and all contracts are signed. We book on a first come, first serve basis.
