From Spark Rescue Santa Barbara:

It has come to our attention that a few days ago there was an incident at Mackenzie Dog
Park here in Santa Barbara. Several puppies were playing together and it turns out a four month old puppy has Parvo which was diagnosed the next day. Animal Control and City Officials were notified although we believe the park remains open. Please avoid using this park. Besides the Parvo virus we have been used to dealing with, new strains are starting to emerge which are far more horrific than the one we now treat through vaccinations.

Please keep your pups safe with up to date vaccines and if you are fostering puppies do not take them to dog parks. Be vigilant please.

Please pass on a message to friends and family who might use dog parks to avoid Mackenzie Dog Park.

Be cautious and keep your dog(s) safe and healthy.
