Can you spot new kitty Indy!...what a joy to see him integrating so well.
We are always careful when introducing new cats into the Sanctuary!. As we know, stressed cats sometimes don't eat... that is when a preventable condition can turn deadly! Hepatic Lipidosis!...and that is why we take such care and do it the way we do. Slowly!.

Although we have many cats in our care!.. we are still trying to help our community!. We help where we can and we stepp...

Although we have many cats in our care!.. we are still trying to help our community!. We help where we can and we stepped in to help a little cat family a few weeks ago!...when no other rescue was responding to the finders plea for help. A number of people have suggested we find fosters for the cats that we step up to help iif we can't physically take them in to our Sanctuary. Please know that we help to the best of our abilities, but that doesn't mean we can take full on responsibility for every cat we help!. By asking someone to foster.....that means we are responsible for that cat!
We always try to "rescue" responsibly, and that means taking care first of the cats we already have.
This is one of the cats we stepped in to help when she was lying lethargic in the bushes. That was a vet cost of $600.00.
Thankfully....thus far this cat has been looked after by the finder. No other rescue had stepped up and the finder can't continue to care for her!!!.
Tomorrow we have arranged for her spay!.
Logistically she is going locally to the vet where she was initially seen and where we could get her in quickly. Little Paws in Santa Clarita...spay and vaccinations will be close to $300.00
That is $300.00 that should be going towards one our seniors for their dental!. But we had stepped in to help this cat and we need to get her spayed!. With your help we can keep stepping up for community cats!.
But we need donations to do so. Please help us cover her vet bill tomorrow.

Santa Clarita.
We can not physically take in every kitty we are asked for help with.
We arranged for this kitty who was in need of vet care....to be seen by a vet a few weeks ago and covered her vet bill of over $600.00. The finder can no longer care for her. We have booked a spay for her Wednesday.
She is friendly...to a point!.. will probably be able to be socialized. Is there anyone or any rescue willing to take this kitty into their care?

We are so grateful to our supporters and I know we are often posting for help!. Running a rescue isn't easy and it's a 24/7 labor of love and dedication. In times of great need such as now in Los Angeles due to the fires ....it's difficult to ask for help in as much as there is so much help needed for fire victims!However we still need to feed and look after the kitties in our care.

We also wanted to mention that no matter where you live in Southern California we are all at risk of fire danger!. The evolving changing weather patterns are scary!.
Scary when you and your family have to evacuate ...but the terrifying thought of having to evacuate with scores of animals is even more scary!. Those of us looking after multiple animals face a whole new level of scary!.

Like a lot of people we are assessing our vulnerabilities!... we have cleared a lot of brush around the Sanctuary...but we need to have a professional brush clearing crew to come in and do an extensive clearing. There was also a defunct sprinkler system on our property...we are going to see if we can get it working!. The first estimate we have is $1,800.

We will need to do a fundraiser to help us with this. The winds are picking up as I write this.
