Are you aware of the dangers of foxtails?
Foxtails are an animals worst nightmare!
They can attach themselves anywhere to your pet and then those pesky little guys get to work. They start to migrate and can become embedded into your pets skin causing multiple issues, which is painful and expensive to fix. They can even migrate internally causing severe problems and can even be fatal. Review the info on the picture to see the most common places to check and what to watch out for. We're here 24/7 for all your urgent needs and concerns!

In celebration of National Corn Cob Day (which was yesterday June 11th), Mila got a little too excited and swallowed a large piece of corn cob!! Luckily her parents brought her to our hospital where we were able to perform surgery in a timely manner to remove the corn cob. Mila has recovered great and gets to go home!

For those who may not know, corn cobs are not digestible and if swallowed will cause serious complications.

Symptoms to watch for:
Dehydration (sticky gums)
Diarrhea or Constipation
Vomiting &/or Retching
Lethargy (tired, inactive, less responsive)
Abdominal pain (doesnโ€™t want stomach touched & abnormal stretching)
Bloated or swollen stomach
Loss of appetite

In case you run into this accident, we're here for all your emergency needs 24/7.

A construction crew was working on Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County Sunday night when an enormous gray rabbit hopped up.
The big bunny was close to traffic winding along Highway 17, so the workers alerted California Highway Patrol officers of the situation. A CHP officer was able to catch the rabbit and named it โ€œBugs.โ€
The CHP wrote, โ€œOur officers gave Bugs a cozy ride to Pacific & Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists, where heโ€™s now receiving the care he needs. A big shoutout to the vigilant workers who spotted Bugs and took quick action to ensure his safety. Kindness and prompt response made all the difference.โ€
