As kitten season draws near, we are aware that there are pregnant cats in our community. Let’s join forces to help reduce the homeless pet population and alleviate unnecessary suffering in Galveston County. If you suspect your cat is pregnant, please take the initiative to have her spayed as soon as possible. We cannot emphasize enough how crucial this step is. Rescue organizations are already stretched thin, and local animal control facilities are on the brink of being at capacity, if not already full. Please do not contribute to this on-going issue. We Want to Help!

Our Traps to Laps (TTL) Program is off to a great start!!
In addition to these stats, 18 cats were TNR'd for TTL fosters that needed assistance with homeless cats.
TTL is a Shelter Diversion Program that completely avoids sending
any kittens (and friendly adult cats) to shelters. It also exponentially reduces the feral cat population and gives precious felines a chance at much healthier, happier and longer lives. A cat is considered a graduate of TTL when they are fully vetted and move on to one of our adoption partners. 😻

COOPER is ADOPTED!
Tiny kitten Cooper has been on the move. He zipped through the Traps to Laps program in less than 24 hours before moving on to our fantastic adoption partner League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter and within two weeks is ADOPTED! Thank you, super trapper Tonya for saving this baby boys life, foster mama Melissa & family for fostering and LCPA for finding his family. Team Traps to Laps for the win! 😽

UPDATE: Our hearts were breaking for Sweetie so today we asked for some shares. We are beyond happy to announce that Sweetie's human finally found her. Happy new life to all!!

Meet the McQuad Squad!
These little furballs are a McMiracle! Spotted in a McDonald's parking lot and on the fast track to a life of endless kitten chaos, their fate took a delightful detour thanks to trapper extraordinaire and super foster, Bonnie. Sleep tight, you adorable munchkins! Life just got a major upgrade. All four of them—three dashing boys and one fabulous McFlurry girl—have leveled up from the FIX UR PET Community Outreach Program Traps to Laps and are now off to the cozy cat whispering League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter condos for their forever homes. High paws to the Traps to Laps team! Four more lives saved from the clutches of homelessness and perpetual kitten parties! 🐾👏❤🐈

Spunky P***y, a recent graduate of Traps to Laps, now has his human. We couldn't be happier for both of them and wish them a lifetime of companionship and cuddles! It wasn't long before his purr-fect family spotted him up for adoption thanks to our fabulous friends at League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter (aka the ultimate adoption partner squad!). It's looking like Ling Ling and his new human brother are going to have many years of fun together! How sweet that these two can grow up together and be best buds. Ling Ling got a second chance at the good life when his foster mama, Joyce, stepped up to temporarily foster him. You are a treasure, Joyce! ICY ICY BABY!
Baby Icy was trapped just in the nick of time last Friday night, the calm before the winter storm night! His awesome FIX UR PET Community Outreach Program trapper and spay/neuter enthusiast, Tonya, was determined to find Icy a place after being vetted at our weekend spay/neuter clinic. When community outreach and Second Chance Pets volunteer Staci took one look at Icy, there was no turning back! Welcome Icy to Second Chance Pets! We think it's safe to say that Icy is the fastest kitten ever to enter the Traps to Laps program and graduate all in the same day. Our trappers and adoption partners are what make Traps to Laps a success!❤🐈❤ Great job ladies!!

Nothing warms us up on crazy weather day than to announce that Meme and P***y have graduated from the Traps to Laps program! Both were born on the streets of Friendswood and destined for a life of reproducing and fighting until a caring citizen stepped up to foster them. Thank you, Dee, for temporarily opening up your home to Meme and P***y! Meme is P***y's mama. Now fully vetted, these two lucky cats are off to the adoption condos with our awesome adoption partner League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter. It’s Mama’s Turn! Nearly three months ago, a pregnant cat appeared near a FIX UR PET Community Outreach Program fosters home in Bolivar, seemingly seeking help. Foster Lacey felt compelled to assist! Just days later, Mama Dolly welcomed three adorable kittens into the world, with Lacey by her side throughout the process, being the best mama cat ❤. From that moment on, Dolly and her three little ones received an abundance of love and care, transforming them into sociable and highly adoptable cats. Kudos to Lacey! On Saturday, this family of four was spayed/neutered at our clinic and immediately taken in by our fantastic adoption partner Lifeline of Galveston County, where all three kittens found their forever homes on Sunday.
Talk about a 24-hour turnaround!
