This horse grows a ton of toe, but to take all from the bottom would get you in trouble, so this set-up allows for ease of break over at the toe without robbing the foot.

Extended heels on the hind feet.
The extra metal that you see is intended to provide more surface area, to protect the bulbs during sliding and displace more sand when stopping for a smooth & balanced cow horse stop. -modification
