July 4th is approaching quickly! Be prepared. Here are some tips to help keep your pets safe during this holiday season.
*Make sure your pets ID tags are up to date with your current information.
*Secure all fences, doors, entry ways and windows to prevent pets from escaping their enclosures.
*Make sure your pets vaccines are current in case they make an escape or if you need to do any last minute boarding.
*Make sure your pets are up to date with their annual exam in case you need to get sedatives for fireworks. We will not be able to fill prescriptions for pets who have not been examined in the last 12 months.
*We recommend you call your Vet now to make an appt for their annual exam in case they are booking out.
*Please call at least 1-2 weeks in advance for your pets sedatives- our pharmacy will be receiving a high volume of requests resulting in delays.

Evergreen Animal Clinic will be closed on Monday 12/25/2023 for Christmas and on Monday 1/1/2024 for New Years. Please be sure to request any needed prescription refills in advance. Requests can take 24-48 hrs to process during regular office hours.
**Also a reminder to plan ahead if your pet will need sedatives for New Years. Please be sure your pet is up to date on their annual exam to ensure that medication can be dispensed**

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! A few safety tips for pets!
*Keep treats away from your pets: Many foods such as chocolate, gum and products containing xylitol can be dangerous.
*Decorations: Beware of lit candles, rubber eyeballs, fake cob webs, glow sticks, artificial blood, etc. Many decorations can be hazardous.
*Outdoor dangers: Keep pets secure and inside to help ensure their safety and so they do not run away out of fear of costumes and noise. Keep your pets microchip information up to date.

Thanksgiving tips for pets:
There is an uptick in veterinary visits during the holidays due to pets being fed unsafe human food. There is a very short list of holiday safe food for your pets.

*Cooked Turkey Meat
*Cooked sweet or regular potatoes
*Unsweetened pumpkin
*Raw green beans or carrots

These foods should be unseasoned with no added butter or sweeteners. It's ok to share with our pets but in moderation.
