Kevin Bacon was introduced to us by Sarah, a dedicated volunteer who has been assisting Animal Advocacy Net with search and rescue efforts in areas affected by wildfires. When Kevin Bacon arrived, he had an injured leg, though the cause and timing of the injury remain unclear. After careful evaluation, it was determined that the best course of action was to amputate the damaged leg. He underwent surgery yesterday and is recovering well. Despite the challenges, Kevin Bacon has a spunky personality, and being a tripod cat certainly won’t slow him down. He’s already showing his resilience and zest for life!

This is Chloe. She was brought to us for triage, thanks to the efforts of Animal Advocacy Net. We were so relieved to not only provide her with the care she needed, but also to reunite her with her loving owner. There's truly no bond stronger than the one between a human and their furry companion—seeing them together again was a moment of pure joy and reminder of the deep connection we share with our pets.

On Sunday, the Palms & Paws team, along with some amazing volunteers, came together to provide care for over 20 wonderful cats brought in by Femme Felines We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Alley Cat Allies for generously covering the medical expenses for these furry friends.

We also had the honor to treat OREO the DOG, who’s story you may have seen on the news. We are so glad to see him safe and sound with his owner.

A special thank you to Dr. Pekering for her time and expertise in examining and treating them. We also want to recognize our incredible community for their generous donations of supplies, showcasing the true spirit of kindness and support during challenging times. It’s truly inspiring to witness everyone uniting to help one another. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help sort donations and those who have volunteered to assist with treating these furry friends. Palms & Paws will continue to do all we can to assist those affected by the wildfires, and we are grateful to have such a passionate and caring community alongside us.

Meet “Elvis” a.k.a “Harold”! He was urgently brought to us by the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. It is unclear what happened to him, but after taking extremity radiographs it was clear to us that he had a fractured hip (slide 2). After putting him on strict rest, pain medications, and monitoring here at Palms & Paws, he has made tremendous improvements and can even walk now! He is incredibly affectionate, constantly purring and has gotten used to all the love and attention he gets here. We can’t wait to see him find his forever home!
