Urgent! 🚨
It’s been 11 days—many animals are suffering without food or water! 🐾💔
The most immediate and life-saving action is to let the families with missing animals back in!
Cats are still being saved and spotted, but the process has not been smooth. FEMA-certified rescue responders are ready and able to methodically trap these animals to save them.
Animal Control was ordered to close all cat traps. They even shut down Wufaw's legally set traps, which had a telephone number and cameras attached, leaving the food unreachable inside. These traps were set up responsibly, and we need more like them.
We’ve heard that
Animal Control will no longer be closing traps—this is progress, but more traps are needed!
These animals deserve a chance to survive.
The fires have caused immense tragedy, these families and their animals need your immediate action NOW.
Thank you to the news media, who have gone above and beyond to help save animals since rescuers have been denied to assist. 🙏❤️
Their lives are in YOUR hands. 🛑 Don’t wait until it’s too late!
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Contact Council Member Traci Park and demand action! Let families in to save their animals!

We don’t want to encourage everyone to call the district offices as they are dealing with a crisis, but if you know someone desperately trying to get in for their animal, have them send a direct message, and we’ll provide the contact information.

There are still animals trapped in homes that were evacuated. Many families were caught off guard as they were either at work or unable to safely get their animals out in time. In some cases, cats made rescue attempts challenging, and people left windows open in hopes their animals could escape. Beyond dogs and cats, farm animals and wildlife are also in desperate need of assistance.
Right now, without a centralized command in Los Angeles, rescuers are doing the best they can under incredibly difficult circumstances. Thank you, @haileywinslow, for advocating for the need of these amazing rescue efforts.
The video credit is from @williammcnamara as they enter a home due to a family’s heartfelt plea to retrieve their beloved cat, highlighting just how urgent and personal this crisis is.
Our group @socialcompassion submitted a request to work with LA City.
We love Los Angeles and its resilient community. But we need a unified, centralized effort across LA County to ensure families are reunited with their animals quickly and efficiently. The citizens of Los Angeles deserve this compassion and action, especially after the trauma they’ve endured.
Let’s come together to make this happen.
These are the miracles that mean everything ❤️
This man watched his entire world go up in flames, losing everything he owned in the devastating fire. But when the firefighters emerged from the wreckage with his beloved cat, his knees buckled with relief, tears streaming down his face. In that fragile moment, amidst the ashes of his life, he held onto the one thing that mattered most. Wow. Beauty among chaos.
Surely, this is the very essence of love. ♥️🙏

@streetpeopleoflosangeles @calebserbanlawler jumped into action last night saving a woman and her 4 dogs who were trapped when her electric vehicle wouldn’t start while trying to evacuate. Great work Caleb! 📷 @calebserbanlawler
Remember this when it's time to vote again! We are all suffering right now and feeling such a loss and she doesn't even have the decency to respond to legitimate questions!
Los Angeles deserves better!

*We will be holding a press conference in front of the courthouse around 12:30pm*
‼️Fight For Justice for Conan—and for every animal who deserves fairness under the law.
FACT: Every certified dog trainer who has met Conan describes him as a sweet, loving dog who poses zero risk to anyone.
FACT: Burbank law clearly states that dogs cannot be punished for defending themselves or their owners.
FACT: The Burbank city attorney, mayor, and city council are now aware that a falsified report and fabricated testimony were submitted to justify executing Conan. Despite this knowledge, they remain silent, allowing an innocent dog’s life to hang in the balance.
Conan’s case should alarm every pet owner. This isn’t just about one dog—this is about a dangerous precedent that threatens all of our animals.
We just witnessed an egregious government overreach when the DEC raided a family’s home and killed their pet squirrel and raccoon with zero just cause. @peanut_the_squirrel12 💔
Now the city of Burbank wants to execute an innocent dog and is aware of the judge having a false report.
This government overreach and complicity must stop.
Tuesday is Conan’s final appeal hearing. His family is fighting tirelessly, but the city has submitted fabricated evidence and refuses to correct it. We need to act now.

Spay and neuter is the solution! This is why we raise funds to keep providing spay and neuter mobiles and assist all over the country.
We have been funding a wonderful cat mobile hospital every month in South LA
Animal over population is not complicated. Spay & neuter is the solution @mayorofla ❤️ 🐾

Beautiful ❤️
This is what actual humane sheltering looks like! LAAS used to do this with the volunteers, but now has stopped in the name of "safety" Now locking them in cages and limiting volunteer access, the animals are not getting out we are having more safety issues.
@mayorofla letting them explore and be dogs is what will make our shelters safer and get the animals adopted. 🐾 ❤️

@adopt_sanpedro 🆘 CASSIDY has been EUTH LISTED at Harbor Shelter & must exit by Thursday 7/18 at 4pm🆘. PARTNERED NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY. No bite history.
Cassidy (white legs) came in with her “sister” Daisy (spotted legs) when they were found together as strays on 6/27. Cassidy is the more confident of the 2 pups who both appear less than 1 year old. Cassidy has been described as medium energy, affectionate, & a dog who leans in for pets & trusts people. She rolled over & gave kisses on her outing & was non reactive to other dogs walking through the kennels .
We are sad that Cassidy is already euth listed after ONLY 2 WEEKS at the shelter.
The GM was at Harbor today & euth listed 11 dogs today as we are nearing triple capacity. Per her note, she saw Cassidy “redirecting & biting her kennel mate, possible litter mate” & made her “rescue only” as well. We also have seen these 2 pups be barky & hyper in their busy kennel location. But we noticed they would play together in the kennel using their mouth as many young dogs do (see video).
Cassidy has been on ONE walk. She will no longer be allowed walks by volunteers because of her “rescue only” status & we cannot take her out ever again. We are sad & disappointed that this young girl is being given so little chance of making it out alive & we hope you will share her story with new hope rescues & fosters.
*of note - the 2 pups are still kenneled together with no issues*

LA Animal Services!
This is so messed up. You are creating your own crisis!
We are doing a spay day right by your South LA shelter on Sunday!
This just proves while we are working on solutions, you are creating more of the problem!
@mayorofla, you need to step in and stop this chaos.
Walk around South LA shelter and you will see tons of animals right next to the shelter.
If Staycee can't even help the animals right outside their shelter doors, do you think they are capable of handling all of Los Angeles?
These are the dogs who come into you shelters @mayorofla!
Many are just so scared and confused.

@friendsofwestvalley If anyone ever doubted whether dogs have emotions, just watch the video of Rhino as his heartless owner dumped him on the sidewalk. Watch as he went through the state of confusion, denial, anxiety and finally, the realization that he was abandoned. The pain he felt as he let out his cries is heart wrenching. 😭💔
Rhino spent about an hour on the street before good samaritan was able to help him, and he’s been at West Valley since 4/25/24.
Despite the ultimate betrayal, Rhino still trusts human and yearns for connection. He’s reserved at first, but eagerly opens up if you’re willing to stick around for a few minutes. He’s a sweet boy who enjoys affection and is treat motivated. He knows the “sit” command, and his volunteer friends are teaching him “down” and “paw”.
Rhino was in playgroup and did well. He’s gentle and kept to himself most of the time. He enjoys chilling with other dogs.
