Trixie has been an extra good girl this year, so we made sure to send her home with lots of festive goodies! We have holiday accessories, toys, stockings, and treats for every pup. Pick up your dog’s gift this week so they can look festive for every gathering ❤️💚

Your dogs are our highest concern, and their health, safety and comfort is our focus. Although Mystery dog illness has been around since June, the news has blown up about it recently. We want you to know that at Paws & Effect, no dog has direct contact with another dog while they’re in the spa, ever. Tables and equipment are sanitized between appointments, as always. Your appointment time is reserved specifically for your pup, so we do our best to get them in and out as safely and quickly as possible. Veterinary consultants advise that you keep your dogs’ vaccines up-to-date, including Bordetella. Don’t wait, if your dog shows signs of illness, to take them to the vet. Recent reports show that they recover more quickly and successfully if they are treated before they are seriously ill. If you have any questions, we are here for you. Don’t hesitate to ask!

The “Our Pico “ opening reception at the Pico Culture House opening was so special! Santa Monica mayor, Gleam Davis, noted how important it is to celebrate art. Photographer Sam Comen’s work is impactful and beautiful. It honors the workers who make up the Pico neighborhood we love. Lots of friends and neighbors showed up to celebrate and enjoy the event. The ‘Our Pico’ show will be displayed at the Pico Culture House Gallery with a fantastic opening celebration on October 26. We have so much to celebrate today! Our treasured team member, Marie, rescued Heena from a difficult situation. Although she wasn’t equipped to foster comfortably, she showered this sweet pup with lots of love and care.

With some connections through Tasha at the front of the spa, a wonderful family has been found, and Heena will start her new life at her furever home tomorrow 🐾🏠❤️Our joy is mixed with sorrow, and we are so grateful to work with such a caring team. We’ll miss you, Heena!

Our treasured Alicia, who has grown along with the shop since it opened, is transitioning to a new career. We are excited and so proud of her, but it is bittersweet!
