WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY!

Coconut (a.k.a. Kookie Nut) is 4 years 11 months-old and sponsored by Stephanie Upton. SNAP Cats rescued Coconut from Bakersfield, CA, where he was going to be euthanized for being FIV+. Yes, that still happens today! Which is SO sad because Coconut is such a sweet, super friendly (kookie) cat that loves human attention. He’s the first kitty to greet you when you enter the room. Coconut can be combative with other cats, especially when there's wet food involved, but mellows a bit once he gets to know them. Coconut would be best as an only cat, but would probably be fine with an older cat that keeps to themselves. (And we learned the other day that he's a great mouser! One managed to get in here and Coconut didn't waste any time grabbing it.) That said, Coconut still needs to be an indoor-only cat.

BTW: Please don't be afraid of FIV. It's nothing. Really. Slightly compromised immune system. That's it. Just like a FIV- cat, Coconut will live a long, healthy life if you take good care of him.

If you're interested in Coconut please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks!

TORTIE TUESDAY!

ARYA JOINS THE 60% CLUB!!!

Arya, who’s been with us since October, 2024, has tested negative for FeLV! We retest FeLV+ kittens who make it to adulthood because they have a 60% chance of shedding the virus naturally. Arya is now in the 60% Club!

Arya is very sweet, cuddly and a bit of an attention hog. She loves to play with wand toys and will sleep with you at night. Arya is very calm and can keep herself entertained when you’re not around.

If you’re interested in Arya please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

This handsome boy doesn’t have a name yet. He was found as a stray kitten in Brian’s backyard. Brian took the kitten in, planning to socialize him and then try to find the kitten a home. When Brian took the kitten into his vet for an exam and vaccines, the kitten tested FELV+. Brian contacted us…

And the rest is history.

Brian and the kitten will be arriving today at about 1:45 pm. You can watch their arrival on our FeLV+ Habitat we**am at https://www.youtube.com//streams.

Thank you, Brian, for rescuing this kitten, cleaning him up, taking such great care of him, and getting him here to SNAP Cats!

Meet Japchae & Banchan. Wait. They named these kittens after Korean stir fry noodles, and small side dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine? Yes. We definitely are! Anyway, these two 12 week-old kittens were found on the streets of San Francisco (no, not the TV show. Okay, now I’m dating myself now.). They were taken to SFACC and diagnosed with mild CH (cerebellar hypoplasia). SFACC contacted us…

And the rest is history.

The kittens will be arriving here at about 1:30 pm today. You can watch their arrival on our Kitten Room we**am at https://www.youtube.com//streams.

Thanks to SFACC for contacting us. And thank you, Celina, for transporting them here to SNAP Cats.

BLACK (AND WHITE) CAT FRIDAY!

Poe is 9 months-old and sponsored by Wyeth Hunnable. SNAP Cats rescued Poe from Orange County, CA. Poe was found in the middle of an intersection last Halloween crying for someone to help him. He was brought to the Orange County Animal Care shelter where he was diagnosed with multiple fractures and significant bruising on his left lateral thigh. The veterinarian was concerned there may be future sloughing. Needing extra special care that the shelter can’t provide, Poe was scheduled to be euthanized.

Uh… NO!

Upon arriving here, Poe didn’t place much weight on his left rear leg. He had a pelvic fracture (left side) and a broken femur in his left leg. If anyone knows anything about kittens you know that they heal very fast. Within a month Poe was running around here like nothing ever happened.

Today, Poe is a sweet, but shy, boy who loves to run and play. And HE LOVES his wet food! Poe will make a wonderful addition to any family who has a kitty about Poe’s age.

If you’re interested in Poe please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

Ross is 6 years 7 months-old and sponsored by Amber Wells. SNAP Cats rescued Ross from Fresno, CA. Ross is the sweetest cat ever! He's SO friendly with people, and most other cats. Only exception are cats who get in his face. Then he’s not so nice. Just defending himself. No stalking or aggressive behavior. Ross will fit in beautifully with a family who either has other cats or not.

Please don't be afraid of FIV. It's nothing. Really. Slightly compromised immune system. That's it. Just like a FIV- cat, Ross will live a long, healthy life if you take good care of him.

BTW: Ross is a Cherubim. It’s a breed of Ragamuffin. Look it up.

If you’re interested in Ross please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY!

Frodo is 7 years 6 months-old and sponsored by Cathy Blackstone. SNAP Cats rescued Frodo from Dubai (UAE). Frodo is a big, smart, alpha street cat that lets everyone here know that he’s the boss. He follows human instructions/demands very well, though, sometimes acting more like a dog than a cat. Although we haven’t tried it yet, we think Frodo will do well on a leash (with harness). It might exhaust some of his relentless energy. With this in mind, Frodo would be a great “only” cat. Or, he’d do well with a senior female that minds her own business.

If you’re interested in Frodo please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks!

TWO FOR TUESDAY!

Samson & Delilah are 13 weeks-old and sponsored by Deborah Metzger. SNAP Cats rescued Samson & Delilah from San Francisco, CA. These two are very outgoing, love to be held, snuggle and sleep in your lap. Despite missing a portion of one of their back legs, these two get around just fine. They jump, climb and run up and down stairs like champs. They are fixed, up-to-date on vaccines (so far), and the sweetest, cutest couple we have (don’t tell the other kittens we said that). Samson & Delilah are a bonded pair, so you’d need to adopt them both.

If you’re interested in adopting Samson & Delilah please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

BLACK CAT FRIDAY!

Wolfie is 1 year 1 month-old and sponsored by Sheila Reilly. SNAP Cats rescued Wolfie from Solano Co, CA. Wolfie is a very playful boy. He would do best with another kitten/cat about his age (like Ozzy!) to run and tumble with, but Wolfie's old enough to be an only cat. Wolfie Loves attention and his wet food. He’ll cry at your feet until you feed him his wet food treat. Wolfie gets along great with the others here, uses the litter box 100% of the time, and will make a wonderful addition to your family!

If you’re interested in Wolfie please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

Jewel’s 4 years 3 months-old and sponsored by Lynn Richardson. SNAP Cats rescued Jewel from Merced, CA. Jewel is just that: a real jewel. She’s the first kitty to greet you when you come in the room, and won’t let you leave until she gets your attention, plenty of pets and everything that goes along with that. Jewel gets along great with the other kitties, so she’d be fine in a home with other cats.

BTW: Please don't be afraid of FIV. It's nothing. Really. Slightly compromised immune system. That's it. Just like a FIV- cat, Jewel will live a long, healthy life if you take good care of her. Jewel's not aggressive toward other cats so there's no chance of her transmitting it.

If you’re interested in Jewel please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.

SNAP Cats is Dedicated to the Rescue and Care of Special Needs Cats.

Animal shelters around the world are full. The first cats to be killed are special needs, seniors and those deemed “unadoptable.” That’s unacceptable.

SNAP Cats is a unique rescue and sanctuary in Santa Rosa, CA (Sonoma County) dedicated to special needs cats. We rescue special needs cats from all around the world, house them, then find them warm, loving homes. We believe, if given time, that ALL cats can find the home that they deserve.

All of our SNAP Cats, regardless of health, age or temperament, are available for adoption or foster care. Those who are not adopted, due to age, illness or temperament, are able to live out the remainder of their natural lives here, in a peaceful, healthy, serene environment.
