This is Mr. Bush. Yes, you read that correctly. They named a cat Mr. Bush. Why? Well… Linda found him living in bushes in the Franklin Pet Cemetery in Merced, CA during a storm. Make sense, now? Mr. Bush? Anyway, Mr. Bush was pretty sick. He spent a couple weeks in the hospital recuperating. It’s there that Mr. Bush tested FeLV+.

Linda says Mr. Bush is fun and playful, but lonely living alone. He needs other cats for company, so Linda emailed us…

And the rest is history.

Arielle is 1 year 2 months-old and needs a sponsor! SNAP Cats rescued Arielle from Indianapolis, Indiana. Arielle was rescued from a backyard breeder in Indianapolis. She was born with severe hind leg challenges. Arielle’s missing her hip sockets, has spinal deformation, has no knee or ankle joints, and has some subluxation on top of that.

Despite all of this, Arielle is a lovable kitten who enjoys being pet and giving kisses and still tries her best to play. She is ambulatory - does best on carpet - and is able to use a litter box on her own. Here’s a video of her before we received her - https://youtube.com/shorts/IY-GAhup654. Arielle is great with other cats, uses the litter box 100% of the time (needs a butt cleaning every once in a while), and will fit into any household who wants a sweet Persian.

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY!

Coconut (a.k.a. Kookie Nut) is 5 years 2 months-old and sponsored by Stephanie Upton. SNAP Cats rescued Coconut from Bakersfield, CA, where he was going to be euthanized for being FIV+. Yes, that still happens today! Which is SO sad because Coconut is such a sweet, super friendly (kookie) cat that loves human attention. He’s the first kitty to greet you when you enter the room. Coconut can be combative with other cats, especially when there's wet food involved, but mellows a bit once he gets to know them. Coconut would be best as an only cat, but would probably be fine with an older cat that keeps to themselves. (And we learned the other day that he's a great mouser! One managed to get in here and Coconut didn't waste any time grabbing it.) That said, Coconut still needs to be an indoor-only cat.

BTW: Please don't be afraid of FIV. It's nothing. Really. Slightly compromised immune system. That's it. Just like a FIV- cat, Coconut will live a long, healthy life if you take good care of him.

TWO FOR TUESDAY!

Samson & Delilah are 6 months 1 week-old and sponsored by Deborah Metzger. SNAP Cats rescued Samson & Delilah from San Francisco, CA. Yes, these two AGAIN because we can't believe they're still here! Samson and Delilah are LOVE BUGS! They are very outgoing, love to be held, snuggled, and sleep in your lap. Despite missing a portion of one of their back legs, these two get around just fine. They jump, climb and run up and down stairs like champs. They are fixed, up-to-date on vaccines (so far), and the sweetest, cutest couple we have (don’t tell the other kittens we said that). Samson & Delilah are a bonded pair, so you’d need to adopt them both.

BLACK (AND WHITE) CAT FRIDAY!

Isa is 2 years 6 months old and sponsored by Stefanie Kraus. SNAP Cats rescued Isa from Fresno, CA. Isa, and her brother, Sage, are very sweet, affectionate kitties. They love attention, and will follow you around for pets and rubs. Isa’s (and Sage’s) ataxia is mild+. Her back end sways side-to-side a bit when she walks/runs. But she doesn’t fall or need any kind of assistance to get where she wants to go, including atop cat tress, shelves and counters. Isa (and Sage) will make a wonderful addition to anyone looking for an affectionate, loving kitty!

Although we’d love to see Isa and Sage adopted together, they’re not bonded. So Isa can be adopted by herself.

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY!

Ozzy II (because we already had an Ozzy) is 3 years 4 months-old and sponsored by Mayra Sanchez. SNAP Cats rescued Ozzy II from Doha, Qatar. Ozzy II is an absolute LOVE BUG! He can never get enough attention or pets. Ozzy II is great with other cats as long as they don’t get in his face. His left eye has been enucleated and should not cause any problems for the rest of his life. Ozzy II will fit into any household either as an only cat or as an addition to your cat family.

He would do best with another kitten/cat about his age (like Ozzy!) to run and tumble with, but Wolfie's old enough to be an only cat. Wolfie Loves attention and his wet food. He’ll cry at your feet until you feed him his wet food treat. Wolfie gets along great with the others here, uses the litter box 100% of the time, and will make a wonderful addition to your family!

She’ll greet you when you come in the room, and solicit pets until it’s enough. She is a Calico after all. Matilde gets along well with other cats or will fit in nicely as an only cat.

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY!

Yes, she's still here! Bea(utiful) is 4 years 3 months-old and sponsored by Leah Hennen. SNAP Cats rescued Bea from Oakland, CA. Bea does not have any special needs because she came to us bonded with her brother, Bertie, who is a dwarf kitty with ataxia. Once they were here for a while, the two de-bonded (is that a word?), and Bertie was adopted in November 2021.

Bea is the typical, playful cat who can’t seem to run out of energy. Bea LOVES to chase the spring toy. Keeps her entertained for hours. Bea will make a wonderful addition to any family who has a cat or two about her age. If you don't have a cat or two, we can also help with that!

SNAP Cats is a unique rescue and sanctuary in Santa Rosa, CA (Sonoma County) dedicated to special needs cats. We rescue special needs cats from all around the world, house them, then find them warm, loving homes. We believe, if given time, that ALL cats can find the home that they deserve.

All of our SNAP Cats, regardless of health, age or temperament, are available for adoption or foster care. Those who are not adopted, due to age, illness or temperament, are able to live out the remainder of their natural lives here, in a peaceful, healthy, serene environment.
