Wayne and Lee are headed to Texas for the April 8 total solar eclipse. We’re wondering if we know any fellow farmers along the way? We will probably go Route 66 and on into Texas somewhere around Austin. Would love to visit maybe lend a hand for an hour or two.

The Sunday soup was sublime. The cornmeal muffins were scrumptious. Still, some of the participants were even more impressed with the farm’s mud. A creative way of really getting to know where your food comes from.

🎶 Still crazy after all these years🎶
I remember when the Gypsy pepper first came out. It is still crazy good and crazy productive. And we still sell it with our warning that excessive consumption may cause singing and wandering. 💃🏽🎶🕺🏻

Our September 24 Farm meal may have to move from under the tent to beside the Farm Stand. Dry bean harvest has begun. It might be nice to drag a tarp of beans in under the tent, and run them through the thrasher in the shade. Tickets available at the farmstand, our booth at farmers market or through Venmo. Check the menu in last weeks newsletter.

Tierra’s gopher patrol. Google gophers and the first thing that pops up is-How do you get rid of them? Pablo is really good with traps and Sibley is really good with her claws. Next item on a Google search is- What do they taste like? Apparently just like chicken! I wouldn’t be surprised. They have an awfully good diet.

We got all the chile plants planted on a rather chilly day. Have had a wide variety of weather over the past 43 years of pepper planting. This is one of the colder ones I can remember. The whole farm is ready for some summer weather. ☀️

The new mill arrived! Wayne now has lava stones in the molino for masa and granite stones in the mill for cornmeal. He has to first work his way through this manual and then we will have stone ground cornmeal.

We were digging through our archives of the books we have been featured in over the years and we decided to share the memories with you.

In 2004 we got several pages about us and our chiles in ‘Sonoma: A Food and Wine Lover’s Journey’ by editor and art director Jennifer Barry.

Photographs in the book were created by Robert Holmes.

We got a copy of the book with their signatures and a lovely note ❤️

Notice the two recipes: Honey and fromage blanc ice cream from and Goat cheese crème brûlée. Maybe we should recreate these!
