On this sad day, we say goodbye to our fearless leader and CEO, as well as our own personal dog, Wyatt Earl Hughes. Born on July 4, 2015, or somewhere thereabouts, in the central Valley of California and ending up at Petaluma animal shelter through a paperwork error, Wyatt was adopted after being on Facebook for all of one hour by myself, Heather Hughes. The Petaluma animal shelter had posted him searching for a new name for their newest visitor, however, I took one look into the soulful brown eyes and realized didn’t matter what they named him. He was mine. Despite being quarantined for 10 days before adoption because he was new to the area, I went every day after work to spend time bonding with my new little family member. The day he was neutered is the day I brought him home and we have been pretty much inseparable ever since. It was always Wyatt and I against the world, through countless moves, some bitter breakups and one particularly rotten divorce. I always had his shoulder to lean on and his fur cry into,
if I needed it. He was always by my side, coming to work with me and making friends with everyone. He loved dogs, he loved cats. He loved people. He loved everything and everyone Six years ago, when I started Nails and More Pet Care, I named him CEO, just in case anything went wrong. Now that he’s gone, our head of HR, Dr. Miss Shadow Thunderpaws will be taking over as interim CEO. Upon finding out this information, She yawned as if to say I do everything else around here anyway. Despite the fact she may have seemed aloof with our fearless leader, we know deep down she truly cared for him, especially as his eyesight diminished. She would give him gentle pats, and some not so gentle pats, to encourage him to go to the right direction.
He was truly the bestest boy, my little weasel. He has my heart and will be greatly missed as he makes his way across the Rainbow Bridge.
