Emu Update:
Our chick's will be 2 yrs old in February. Mom, Mumu, is 25+ years old.
They love the water, especially on these hot days. The boy, Grunt, loves to sit in the water and sunbathe just like his dad, Elmo, used to.
Today he couldn't wait and decided the sprinkler would do.
Diva earned her name by walking around all fluffed up like she is a runway model.

HELP FIND MOLLY A HOME !

Molly is looking for a new home. She was originally abandoned at a beach in Southern California in September 2023 and came into the care of Greyhound Friends for Life adoption group because she was thought to be a greyhound mix. But DNA testing revealed that she is primarily Doberman and Malinois. In October ’23, she was adopted by a family. After about 7 months, she decided she didn’t like the resident cat, so she was returned to GFFL and is now in foster care.
Molly is estimated to be around 3 years old. Walks are the highlight of the day! She enjoys being groomed and getting her teeth brushed. Her leash manners are good and she knows ‘heel’ (on leash), ‘sit’ and ‘sit-stay’. She snuggles up in her doughnut bed in the evening and sleeps through the night. She can be a bit wary of humans in certain situations (like tight entrances or small spaces). Other than this, she loves to be with humans, loves attention and she will look at you for guidance.

She is a strong and healthy girl, kept on heartworm medication, and up-to-date with all her vaccinations. She is ready to find and bond with her special person and would do best in a home where someone is around the majority of the time.

Lucy is approx 3 years old. She is a very sweet girl who shows sign of being abused, she would hide and sleep under the couch the first few weeks of being rescued. She is now a happy girl, playful but can still be shy with adults.

She does great with dogs of all sizes, babies and kids. She does not push or jump on kids, and runs towards us when the baby is crying to let us know “hey get the baby” lol we also have backyard chickens and all the dogs roam free with them. Lucy is gets along with them just fine.

She is potty trained and uses the dog door to go outside, she does let me brush her teeth, and knows her basic commands.

The people she was rescued from did not know her breed- i believe she is a husky mix. With that being said she DOES NOT have any husky tendencies. Lucy is a very calm dog, yes she gets the wi***es like any other dog, but shes very calm and can thrive in an active home or relaxed retired environment.

The bad:
She chases cats off property, needs leash training, can bark at strangers when they get too close but once she feels safe shes completely ok.

This is Lyka. She is approximately eight months old Shepherd mix. Potty trained knows basic commands likes dragging her Blankey or bed around, she knows exactly what a human bed and pillow is for . Foster for Leo Needed

Leo arrived last month with an injured leg. We took him to UC Davis and x-rays showed a broken femur. Leo had surgery last week and is recovering well. We are unsure how long Leo has been suffering with this leg. The Orthopedic Surgeon guesses at least
6 - 8 weeks because the muscles in the leg are weak and tight.
To save his leg, we are now doing physical therapy 2-3 times a day in hopes he will regain use of the leg.

We will be looking for a foster home for Leo. This person needs to have the time to work with Leo and continue his physical therapy
