Thatz My Dawg offers value by helping dogs and their owners become better friends. Dog, in turn, feel loved and appreciated and become inspired to behave obediently. mery teaches dog owners how to achieve the results they want through positive reinforcement of good behavior. The pet learns to choose behaviors that will earn praise and rewards. Outdated fear based tactics are counterproductive and could create worst habits and possible regressions. Old methods that attempt to teach pets by force, punishment or restraint are not used. Instead JD teaches the dogs to learn by their own choice of actions not by fear. In turn the dog will chose things that bring him or her affection and treats. JD has been trained and certified by Animal Behavior College in Northridge California Lic. . He has been working with training dogs since 1989.

JD helped me tame my high energy bernadoodle puppy with only 2 sessions! He taught me how to speak her language and how to train her from pulling on our walks with nonverbal communication. Now I can communicate with her without using my voice and she listens! 🐶

JD and Thatz My Dog mean it when talking about rehabilitating my dog and training ME!!! JD has patience of steel and dogs respect and listen to him. I had no patience at all but with his help I learned. I’m different now.

Who knew I was making my feral, swiped from the beaches of Mexico mut, worse with my own anxious behavior.

In 5 short lessons, I learned that:
-the more frustrated and impatient I am, the less my dog respects me.
-the more assertive I am, the more submissive he becomes.
-when I yell at my barking dog to stop barking, I’m actually joining him and encouraging him to bark louder and more!!!
-the less I Touch, Talk to or make Eye contact (TTE) with my anxious, annoying, agitated dog (JD calls this behavior “the red zone”) the calmer my dog becomes!!! This is an amazing technique!!! Only when my dog is completely submissive do I reward him with TTE. IT WORKS!!!!

All of the above translates to how I now relate to my dog. My new relationship with him is controlled and calm rather than manic and insane.

He now without one word from me sits, stays, walks calmly on leash, follows along with cycling rhythmically and fetches on command. It’s about body language instead of speaking. It’s amazing how connected my dog and I have become.

I’d love to say that my dog is completely changed but really, it’s me who made the change.

I cannot thank JD enough for this work. It’s not easy but JD makes it fun. And like anything we want to excel at, it takes patience and practice. Thanks JD for both.
