Everyone say hello to Rufus!
Rufus came to us because he was experiencing some skin issues. His care team member was able to provide a cone to keep him from licking the affected area. To help Rufus get rid of his skin issues we dispensed cefpoderm tablets and medicated wipes. To keep the area dry we sent home Neopredef powder.
We thank his pet parents for trusting us with his treatment!

🍗 Watch the menu. Avoid sharing turkey bones, rich foods, or anything with onions, garlic, or spices.
🧺 Secure the trash. Curious noses can find harmful leftovers.
🍫 Skip the sweets. Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are toxic to pets.

He came to us because he had a cut on his foot. We were able to clip the hair around the area and clean the wound throughly. His care team member sent home an oral and topical antibiotic along with Chlorhexidine solution to soak his foot at home.

Halloween is tomorrow! 👻 Before the fun starts, let’s make sure your pets stay safe:
🍬 Hide the candy - Chocolate and sugar-free treats can be toxic, so keep them far from curious noses.
🕯️ Skip the candles - Battery-operated lights are a safer bet around wagging tails.
🚪 Calm the chaos - If your pet gets nervous with all the doorbell ringing, set them up in a quiet room with their favorite toy.
🦴 Keep costumes comfy - If your pet's not into dressing up, a festive collar works just as well!

This little chicken tender came to see us after a not so nice neighborhood dog took a little too much interest in him. This didn't stop sweet Lambeau from making friends with us here at Urgentvet Sarasota. After some pain medicine, a little wound cleaning and a whole lotta cuddles with an emotional support teddy bear, Lambeau went home with some pain medicine and antibiotics. From puffy and not feeling too hot, to ready to go home to mom and dad! This cutie came to see us for pretty serious allergic reaction after getting vaccines a few hours earlier. After giving her some medicine in her IV catheter we monitored for swelling to go down. She was back to wagging her tail once her medicine started working and her face got less puffy! Allergic reactions can be scary. If your pet is experiencing hives, facial swelling, vomiting or anything out of the ordinary after something new, it's best to get them seen by a veterinarian.
