It's HOT out there! Be careful with your pups in the summer heat. 🥵

We are seeing so many cases of heat stroke this year. Please be extra careful. It’s been heartbreaking to see the number of pets that have lost their lives because of the heat. In just a few minutes, some pets can succumb to the heat.

REMEMBER:

* Dogs and cats cannot sweat! This is our main mechanism of cooling and it’s why we can stay outdoors longer in the heat, while dogs and cats cannot.

* Dogs and cats cool themselves off by panting and exchanging the cool outside air for the hot air in their lungs. When the outside air is hot, they cannot effectively cool down.

Until the weather cools down, don’t risk it. Keep walks short. Even longer walks in the evening at this time of year are risky. Please stay safe!
