📣 FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! 📣

We have a few urgent needs again, that need foster homes as fast as possible:

💖 PIPER: She is a young poodle mix, likely around 8-9 months old. She had surgery on her leg a month ago and was spayed yesterday, but her foster could not keep her any longer. She will do best with another playful dog, a fenced yard or a safe fenced area in your community to run off leash daily and someone who works from home. She is still a puppy and has a lot of energy. She’s a long lanky 30ish lbs, but growing like a w**d!

🐕 HOPE: This sweet mama was recently found in rough condition and we will be posting her story soon. She needs a temporary foster from 09/07-09/11 preferably with a secure yard and another dog. No kids because she is nervous and kids leave doors open. She is roughly 45lbs. EDIT: COVERED! ✅

💖 LIA: She is one of our dumped mamas from last week. She’s a young white Goldendoodle and very sweet. She was uprooted from her foster home yesterday and is having a hard time adjusting. She needs lots of love right now, but she is normally a playful happy girl who loves all dogs. She’s 36lbs. EDIT: COVERED ✅

🐕 RUSTY: We will also be posting his story soon, but he’s a sweet, submissive boy who is about 37lbs, was recently caught as a stray and needs a secure yard. He’s great with other dogs and they seem to help him come out of his shell. No kids because he could be a flight risk.

All foster homes must be within an hour of Tampa or Sarasota. All dogs in the home must be fixed, up to date on vaccines and on heartworm prevention.

A few months ago, we rescued two dogs in horrible condition named Juno & Moon ➡️ https://rb.gy/dkfmv6. We had no idea that shortly after, two more “Moons” (her sisters) would also be dumped 💔 The shelter called and we couldn’t get there fast enough to save them.

As usual, they were emaciated, weighing a mere 30lbs, with foul smelling dreadlocks weighing them down and covered in fleas 😔 These poor girls had not been shown any kindness by humans, but you would never know it. They kissed us over and over on the ride to Sit Stay Splash - Self Service Dog Wash & Grooming who graciously gave them a makeover ❤️‍🩹

⏭️ Fast forward to now and one beautiful girl is ready to find her FOREVER HOME! Amazingly, Moon’s family adopted her sister, Lily 🌙

Estelle is the sweetest, easiest girl to love 💘
She’s a long-legged puppy goofball with big paws and a big heart. She loves her people the most, followed closely by treats. She will do all she can for positive attention and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She knows sit and is learning stay, mostly behaves well on walks (sometimes a squirrel will tempt her), and does great in her crate when nobody is home. She's a people dog, so she'd do best in a house where she isn't alone often. She loves to wrestle and play with her golden retriever bestie 👯‍♀️, but is also great with cats.

Estelle is now about 45-50lbs, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Her ideal home has a doggy best friend and a yard for her. Her adoption fee is $400 and she is in Lutz/Tampa.

Our sweet old girl Gaia had a day on the town today and had an absolute BLAST! We are so proud of the confidence she has found since she’s been with us in foster 🥰🥰.

You might remember we pulled Gaia from a shelter a few weeks ago where she was running out of time and would have been euthanized soon. Gaia is a 10 year old Weimaraner who was found as a stray and then sat in a shelter for far too long - leading us to believe she’d been dumped in the first place. Gaia has lived a hard life, and she has a number of tumors and masses that need removed on top of the other issues she is battling. We knew Gaia’s road to recovery would be an expensive one, but we couldn’t leave Gaia in that shelter to die 😭.

Gaia is scheduled for surgery in a couple weeks and we very simply cannot wait for her to be back on her game and feeling the best she can possibly feel! She has done incredibly well with her foster family and absolutely adores all people and dogs she comes into contact with. She has plenty of s***k left for an old girl, and her future family will be SO lucky to have her! We can use all the help we can get in getting Gaia ready to live her best life with her future family and if you are able to donate we would all be forever thankful! This girl deserves the life we are dreaming of for her!!! 😍

Update: Three have gone to foster homes and we’re working on applications for the last one now.

Guys, we’re in a bind! ‼️

We need foster homes for our girls, like yesterday! We have two female Goldendoodles from the 4 Mamas group and two more coming today! We thought we had enough applications to cover them all, but none are working out 😩

What we’re running into:
🐕 Most of the applications are for the Golden Retriever. Please note: Goldendoodles are half Golden Retriever, but shed far less because of the Poodle hair! 🙂
🐕 They’re going out of town for Labor Day
🐕 They thought we needed help in two weeks or a month

The girls are sitting in crates in a boarding facility. They’re dying to be in a home, resting their bony bodies on a soft dog bed and being loved on by someone. Can you help? 🤞🏼

Update on the 4 Mamas ❤️

As you may have seen, we spent our whole afternoon with the Planned Pethood Wesley Chapel team getting the girls basic needs taken care of. While there, we learned a few sad things:

♦️Two of them are high heartworm positive 💔 this is not transmittable to your dogs. It’s carried by mosquitoes and we’re guessing these girls lived outdoors without prevention 😔
♦️ We suspected that the Golden Retriever’s neck was a stitching job done at home and that was confirmed by the vet. She has lots of scar tissue and it will always be pulled together like that. We can’t imagine how painful this was for her 😔
♦️ We also suspect that at least one has had her vocal cords altered. She can’t bark, it’s just a scratchy sound. Sadly, this goes on in the breeding world. Video in the comments.

However, they are bathed, fed, have had their ears cleaned and medicated and are probably having the best few days of their lives ☺️ The red Poodle has gone to foster and the Golden Retriever has a lot of foster applications. The 2 doodles are still in need!

We have also created a wish list to help them and some of our other foster pups. Feel free to choose a different food or any other supply that you think would be helpful, we aren’t picky! 🙏🏻

More Mamas 💔

Many of you know, we’ve spent years rescuing dumped, neglected doodles and poodles. A majority of them are dumped in Hernando County and have been used as breeding moms. Well, these are exactly that 🥺

Last night, we received a message that 6 dogs had been dumped in the middle of nowhere. Based on the location, we knew this story too well. It was the darkest road you’ve ever seen with nothing for miles either direction. They didn’t walk there, they were dumped.

One of our volunteers went up there and stayed until 1:00am trying to find them with no luck. Sadly, two female Golden Retrievers had already been hit and killed 😔 The 4 survivors were contained by two citizens and picked up by animal control. They’re identical to several that we’ve found in the past.

The 4 Mama’s are petite, emaciated, filthy, urine stained and one of them is still full of milk 💔 We have two Doodles, a red Standard Poodle and an English Cream Golden Retriever. This would not have been possible today without Central Bark Tampa giving them an immediate place to stay! 🙌🏼

However, we need foster homes and help taking care of them! This was so unplanned 😭

🎶They're creepy and they're kooky

The Addams family!!🎶

Just kidding, these kiddos aren't kooky, mysterious, spooky or ooky - but they ARE the Addams family!!! We'd love to introduce Wednesday, Lurch, Gomez and Fester - 6 month old GORGEOUS silver Weimaraners born February 20th, 2024. 😍😍 These pups are 100% siblings of our L4P Alumni Declan, Duncan and Clayton, and they are the babies of L4P Alumni Mavis. The backyard breeder who gave up Declan, Duncan, Clayton and Mavis once again come looking for help after realizing its not so easy to place dogs that have had zero socialization, never seen a vet, never been inside a home, and are nervous of the world. They have said they are done "breeding” and we hope they are telling the truth, however we have offered to spay and neuter their dogs.

While these babes are beautiful, they are very timid and are going to need patient families willing to work with them on socialization and help them build confidence. These poor kids do not understand being pet or loved on, and it kills us to think they've lived the last 6 months with no care or attention. They absolutely want love, they are just unsure about how to receive it - but we know they will get there! 💙💙

Sadly none of the Addams family members have ever seen a vet so we do not know what their medical status is at this time. Fester, however, does have cherry eye and he will be having surgery to correct this. They will be seeing our vet this week to make sure there are no underlying issues and to get their medical care started. We can't wait to see them as healthy, confident young Weimaraners!

Meet Jewel! 💎

This petite parti poodle girl is absolutely amazing. She has a small frame and is only around 40lbs, loves people and loves other dogs! 🐩

Jewel loves both men and women, teens and adults. She's loved every dog she's met and is a playful little girl who would LOVE a doggy friend in her home. She loves to cuddle, rides well in the car, loves adventures, is housetrained and crate trained. She's eager to please and would be a great training candidate because she's very food motivated. She also enjoys visiting Home Depot and Lowe’s with her foster mom ☺️

Meet Mistletoe! 💛

This sweet medium sized girl is looking for an immediate foster home or better yet, a forever home! 🐾

Mistletoe is a Wheaten Terrier & Poodle mix and the perfect size at around 35lbs. She’s tiny, spry, athletic and always up for an adventure. She’s strong on a leash, but loves going for walks and exploring the backyard. She’s both crate trained and house trained and is fine to be crated while you work. Fun fact: she loves men!

It is extremely hard to believe, but Mistletoe is 11 years old. We believe she’s the kind of dog who will live to 20 though 😂 We’ve had her spayed, had a full dental cleaning and extractions, old lady lumps removed and now she’s healthy as a young dog!

She has two quirks:
🐕 She doesn’t like other dogs, so you would just walk her without going up to other dogs. It’s not a big deal.
🐕 She’s always ready to GO, so she has a tendency to push past someone’s legs and get out the door. She just goes a few houses down, but we need to prevent that from happening. We would be happy to provide baby gates for anyone that fosters or adopts her.

A few of our houndie babies have found their families and are doing so well at home, but we still have five of them left who are waiting for the right families to come along! 🖤🤎

These gorgeous kiddos are almost 5 month old Bloodhound x Black and Tan Coonhound mix puppies born March 27th. The pups were the result of an accidental litter that was surrendered to us, and their mother is a purebred Bloodhound while their father is an AKC registered Black and Tan Coonhound. We have 2 males and 3 females still here with us!

It breaks our hearts to see dogs being abandoned on the streets so often, and it is so much worse when the dogs are suffering from medical issues. Unfortunately this is the case for our beautiful girl Gaia, and our heart simply breaks for her 😭. Gaia is a blue Weimaraner who was found as a stray and clearly had no one looking for her, as she spent 11 days in a high kill shelter and was not claimed. We were under the impression she was being pulled by another local Weimaraner rescue, but as soon as we learned she was still in the shelter 11 days later we jumped to make arrangements to get her out. We knew there would be a financial hardship when we committed to taking Gaia, but we couldn’t leave her in the shelter any longer. We are so happy that she is here with us now and settling into her foster home 🦴💙.

Gaia is believed to be around 10 years old and it definitely seems like at least the last few years have been rough ones for her. She is still intact, her teeth are in terrible shape, her nails were curled into her paws, and she has several masses that need removed - to include a large mammary tumor and a mass hanging down about 4-6” off her chest. She also arrived in our care with an upper respiratory infection that she is still working through. Once she is healthy enough, our medical team at Sarasota Animal Hospital will get started on fixing her up and getting her ready to be adopted. This process will be an expensive one, and we could use all of the financial help we can get! Gaia and our whole team will be forever thankful for any donations!!

Beryl is absolutely S T U N N I N G and a solid black Newfoundland who joined our rescue a few weeks ago. Now, we’re ready to find his forever home! ❤️

Beryl is a GEM 💎 He’s perfect balance of mellow and fun. He loves everyone he meets, loves all dogs, loves big kids and also likes water. He’s house trained, working on commands and is always eager to learn more. He a giant teddy bear who loves to snuggle. He’s also non-destructive and can left loose in the house - that’s a huge win! 🙌🏼

Beryl is around 100lbs, estimated to be 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. No cats for him. He’s in Sarasota and his adoption fee is $400.

Update: Foster found!

‼️ URGENT!‼️

One of our volunteers caught this big boy last night. He does not have a chip and no one is looking for him yet. The shelter will be notified today, but they are at double capacity 💔 so we are hoping to keep him out in a foster home until his owners are found or until we can legally take him into our rescue.

We need a foster home near Tampa or Sarasota. He’s about 70lbs and seems young. He will be dog tested soon.

💛 Milo: Poor Milo is stuck in boarding and has been there for weeks 😔 He is a big boy and a ball of energy. He’s big, strong, goofy and lovable. He could play fetch alllllllll day and loves water! He just needs someone home more often than not. He’s about 75lbs.

💛 Neco: This beautiful Standard Poodle just came to us. He’s about 2 years old and a skinny 40ish lbs. He’s great with other dogs and is a former breeder dog. UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND

Update: Adopted! 🐾

Meet Moose! 🤎

Some of you may remember an identical puppy named Toffee that we had a few months ago. Well, he is her brother! 🐕

This handsome boy is full of love and energy, always up for a cuddle or a play session with his sister, who he is in foster with. He does great with other dogs, but he'd also be happy as an only dog in his new home 🐶

He absolutely LOVES cuddling in bed and being with his people. He is the sweetest boy and everyone who meets him falls in love with him! ❤️ He already knows basic commands like sit, down, and no, and he’s both crate trained and potty trained. He does well in public and around other dogs, though he's still working on not jumping (he's a big boy!) and not pulling on the leash.

This sweet boy would thrive in a home with a yard and a tall fence. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he may not be ideal for homes with small children. At 9 months old, he is 67lbs and still growing. His mom was a 100lb silver Lab, his dad was a 50lb chocolate standard poodle and Moose is 100% BEAUTIFUL! 🥰

Moose is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and HW-. His adoption fee is $500 and he’s in Tampa.

Check out this beautiful post for our sweet boy, Duke! ❤️

Duke needs a new foster or forever home by this Friday when his foster leaves for vacation! 🐾

🐾❤️Can you imagine if the world lost this magnificent boy? In June, DUKE, was found, severely injured, incredibly emaciated, on the side of a rural road!😔💔

🩷🐾 DUKE was not alone, it is believed, the other pup was his sister! Both in horrific shape! A couple scooped them up and brought them to the local animal shelter, where it was determined that euthanasia was the only option unless a rescue stepped up!🐾❤️🙏

❤️Fortunately, both pups secured rescues, sadly, they were separated! Honestly, their road to recovery was so intense, it was to great a burden for one rescue! So, DUKE went to Love4Paws and when a loving soul saw his horrific, first photos, she turned to her husband and said, “we have to foster him!”, and so they did!!❤️🐾

❤️For two months, one surgery, medications, wound rewraps, and countless vet visits, they nursed this boy back to the picture you see on the right! Along the way, he has gained 20lbs and lots of confidence!! Despite everything he has been through, he loves, loves humans! DUKE is an absolute delight; he is silly, gentle, and intelligent!! He rides well in the car, easy on his leash, full of curiosity and warms up new friends easily! His foster parents adore him but the time has come for him to shine ✨ and find his forever!❤️🐾

❤️🐾 If you are looking for a 96lb couch 🛋️ buddy who will beat you to bed every night and is low maintenance, DUKE is your boy!! He has “mediocre” 🤣 energy but appreciates a good sniffari or rolling around in the yard!🤣❤️🐾

Meet Lisa! 💖

This sweet girl joined our rescue about two months ago with a group of girls from a backyard breeder and is now ready to look for her people! ☺️ Lisa is 3.5 years old, about 50lbs and a Standard Poodle. She’s is a “cafe au lait” poodle and her coloring is absolutely stunning and so unique! 🤎

Lisa LOVES other dogs and truly depends on being with one or more in her forever home. She grew up in a home with 8 other dogs, up until 2 months ago - so she’s truly a pack dog and thrives with other dogs 🐕 Bonus, she’s also okay with cats! 🐱

She is a quiet homebody, who likes routine, rarely barks, likes lounging on the sofa, sleeping in bed and sunning herself outside ☀️ Lisa can be nervous of new things, so she isn’t a dog that wants to go everywhere or have a busy house. She requires a 6ft fenced yard, another dog (the more the merrier!) and an adult only home.

Lisa is spayed, has had a dental cleaning and is vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $400 and she is in St Petersburg.

Update: only one or two apps have come in. We need help!

❤️ POODLE FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! ❤️

This weekend, we took in 4 Standard Poodles from a breeder who is having medical issues and struggling to care for the dogs. The four that we have are petite, well mannered, socialized and even know some commands. They are absolutely absolutely wonderful dogs. We promise to introduce them very soon 😉

But, there are almost 10 MORE there that we NEED to help. However, we must have homes lined up before we take them in. This will be in the next few days to a week. If you are within an hour of Tampa or Sarasota and can foster a poodle, please let us know asap! 🙏🏻

Update on Zebra! 💚

A few weeks ago, this sweet not-so-senior boy came into our rescue because his lifelong owner was going to euthanize him immediately after pulling her down on a walk. We took him in, found him a temporary foster and he has been thriving! 🙌🏼 However, he needs a more permanent foster or a forever home!

Zebra LOVES spending time outdoors and is a master lizard hunter. He loves long walks, is friendly to all people and dogs and would love a screened patio or fenced yard to continue his squirrel & lizard hunting 🦎

His age is deceiving. He’s 11 years old, but he’s physically like a young, strong dog. No arthritis for him! He’s very active, healthy and tall and lean 65lbs. However, he’s gentle, well mannered, sleeps in his crate, house-trained and non-destructive. He’s easy going, very sweet and will lay by your feet while you work.

Zebra’s temp foster is about to leave for vacation and we don’t want to send him back to a boarding facility. He needs a home! If you can help him, please complete an application:

Piper is wondering if anyone wants to foster her while her leg heals 🥹

She’s a 7-8 month old puppy who had surgery to remove a small piece of bone in her wrist. It doesn’t affect her at all, she’s playful and very much a typical puppy. She just needs splint changes once a week for the next 3 weeks at a vets office, preferably the one in Riverview that did her surgery.

‼️ HELP NEEDED ASAP! ‼️

We have 4 Standard Poodles being surrendered to us tomorrow from a breeder. We are still working on logistics, but they should be to us by the afternoon. These are old photos, they no longer look like this and will likely need to be shaved and start over. There are 2 males & 2 females.

We need help with a few things:

❤️ FOSTER HOMES: If you are within an hour of Tampa or Sarasota and can open your home to a poodle, please complete an application. All dogs in your home must be fixed, these dogs are all intact. If you have an application on file with us, please email us at [email protected].

🚘 TRANSPORT: Is there anyone with a good size SUV or van that would want to transport all 4 from Summerfield (Ocala) to Lutz/Tampa tomorrow? We can meet you with transport crates to safely get them here. *** Transport covered thanks to Donna!

🐾 SUPPLIES: We will make an Amazon wish list once we see them, but if you would like to help with crates, adult dog food, collars/leashes/harnesses or poodly things such as ear wash and eye wash, supplies can be dropped off after 2:00pm tomorrow at Sit Stay Splash - Self Service Dog Wash & Grooming in Lutz.
