Dear Cat Depot Family,
We've prepared the cats. We've prepared the shelter. Now, we wait.
Our hurricane ride out team is onsite and will remain until it is safe to reopen.
In addition to the 116 cats and kittens directly under our care we had some special evacuees join us. Cats from St. Francis Animal Rescue in Venice, along with their volunteer caretakers, are also here onsite.
Our thoughts are with you all. We've all got this.

HAMILTON COUNTY DOG UPDATE: They leave home so fast! All of the Hamilton County dogs are now on their way to our shelter partners throughout the state to start the next leg of their journeys.
Over the next few days we will continue to post photos and our thanks to the organizations who made all of this possible. But first, we would like to thank all of YOU for supporting this rescue effort. The support we received from the community was truly heartwarming and we are so glad that we could assist these incredible animals in their time of need.

(Helping Animals Live and Overcome), Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, SPCA Florida, Humane Society of Sarasota County, Pet Alliance, and Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County for getting the dogs ready to meet their forever families!
HAMILTON COUNTY DOG UPDATE: It seems like it was just yesterday that the pups from Hamilton County arrived here at Cat Depot! We couldn't be more excited to announce that five of the dogs have embarked (get it, em-barked😉) on their journey to our rescue partners. Once they arrive, they will be spay/neutered and placed for adoption following some additional time to decompress! Thank you to SPCA Florida, Pet Alliance, and Humane Society of Sarasota County for taking the first batch of dogs. Stay tuned for additional updates!

The pups from the Hamilton County Dog Rescue received toys today for the first time! We have been continuously blown away by their ability to adapt to their new environment. They are beginning to enjoy life and all of the simple things every dog should have... toys, treats, head butts, and snuggles. They are truly incredible and we cannot wait to continue to share their story with you!
