Opals favorite activity is foraging for pine cones, and the weirdest thing she does is chew on dirty socks🧦

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, here are a few common foods to watch out for:

Onions and Garlic🧄: although they are common ingredients in multiple Thanksgiving dishes, these veggies can cause GI upset. Cats are more susceptible to these issues, but dogs are also at risk if large quantities are consumed.

Sweet treats🥧🍰: desserts that contain artificial sweeteners, such as xylitol - which is commonly found in gum, candy, and baked goods - can cause insulin release in your pets, which can lead to issues involving the liver

Turkey bones and skin🍗🦃: although small pieces of fully cooked and boneless turkey are okay for our pets, avoid letting them chew on bones. Additionally, turkey skin contains high amounts of fat, which can lead to pancreatitis if you are not careful.

Alcohol🍾🍻: while you are celebrating and gathering with your loved ones this year, be mindful of alcoholic beverages and food products containing alcohol around your pets. If you believe your pet has ingested any alcohol, you can call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

This little pup came in for his intro appointment a few days ago.

Everyone meet Leo! He’s a sharpei and beagle mix, which gives him nice floppy ears and the most squishable face!

This little boy is keeping his older sister, Coco, on her toes, but that’s the job of a puppy!
