Dr. David Watkins started the Animal Health Center with the goal of providing the best care for Sarasota's pets while making his clients feel like family. This has been the standard for the past 31 years here at the Animal Health Center. In 2015 Dr. Morgan Watkins joined the Animal Health Center to form a father daughter team to continue to provide the best care for Sarasota's pets.

Rabies is very much here in our Florida wildlife population. This story and others like it show the importance of keeping your pets current on their rabies vaccination. Bats and racoons are the two most common wild animals to be affected but you should always exercise caution around any wild animal.

Sarasota County (FL) Sheriff's Office and Sarasota Police Department are still recommending staying off the roads as these bands still pass through Sarasota. We are heeding these warnings and will remain closed for the day. We will reopen tomorrow morning at 8am.
