MDWFP began CWD sampling efforts in the 5-mile Containment Zone on February 23, 2018. The results from 64 deer submitted for testing were returned March 5 as "not detected for CWD". Further information will be made available tomorrow.

Congrats to this team of fellas !

A new male alligator length record was certified today by MDWFP Alligator Program Coordinator, Ricky Flynt. The alligator was taken in the Southwest Alligator Hunting Zone by the hunting party of Bryan Burnside of Brandon, MS near Natchez, MS.

The alligator’s length was 14 feet ¾ inch, which broke the previous record by ½ inch. The alligator weighed 766.5 pounds. The belly girth was 69 inches, and the tail girth was 43 inches.

Gator Season is just a few weeks away!! Just want to let the gator hunters know that we are ready to take care of all your trophies! Whether your wanting a skull mount or a true life like mount we would be glad to take care of it. Heads can be left at B and L meat processing. You can get your meat taken care of and a trophy mount at the same stop. I have also talked with Woody Cain in Port Gibson about getting heads from there. You can also just call me and we can make arrangements.
