๐Ÿšจ Urgent Public Health Announcement ๐Ÿšจ

Dear Brevard County Community,

We need your immediate attention regarding a concerning development: Rabies has been detected in our area, prompting a 60-day alert. It's crucial to take immediate precautions to ensure the safety of our families and pets.

Hereโ€™s what you need to know:

Rabies is a serious viral disease that can be fatal if not treated promptly.
The 60-day alert indicates an increased risk of exposure in our community.
Please keep a close watch on your pets and avoid contact with unfamiliar animals, particularly wildlife.
Please share this information widely within our community. For updates and more information, visit Brevard County Health Department's website. Donโ€™t hesitate to contact us at Seaside Veterinary Clinic or local health authorities for guidance on vaccination and preventive measures.

Letโ€™s work together to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community!

๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐Ÿพ Pet Preparedness for Hurricanes in Brevard County! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒช๏ธ

Hurricane season is here, and at Seaside Veterinary Clinic, we want to ensure your furry friends are safe and sound. Here are some essential tips to keep your pets protected during a storm:

1. ๐Ÿ‘œ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿฉน Create a Pet Emergency Kit: Include food, water, medications, a first aid kit, and a favorite toy or blanket to keep them comfortable. Please also include any anxiety medications your animals may need during a storm as well.

2. ๐Ÿ†”๐Ÿพ ID and Microchip: Ensure your pets are wearing up-to-date ID tags and consider microchipping them for added security.

3. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿถ Safe Space: Designate a safe, secure space in your home where your pets can stay during the storm. Make sure itโ€™s free from hazards.

4. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿฑ Evacuation Plan: Have a pet-friendly evacuation plan in place. Know the nearest pet-friendly shelters or hotels. For options in Satellite Beach, FL, check out the Brevard Humane Society's Pet Shelters. - https://brevardhumanesociety.org/pet-shelters/

5. ๐Ÿ“ป๐Ÿ“ฑ Stay Informed: Keep up with local weather updates and follow instructions from local authorities.

6. ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿ“‹ Vaccines and Health Records: Ensure your petโ€™s vaccines are up-to-date, including rabies, distemper, and any other necessary vaccines. Keep a copy of their health records in your emergency kit to avoid any issues during evacuation or boarding.

On this eve of Christmas Eve I would like to take this moment to bid a fond farewell as I depart from the Seaside Veterinary Clinic Nation. Father Time, injuries and other health corncerns have rendered me unable to be the โ€œfull serviceโ€ veterinarian that you deserve to have for your wonderful pets. Some of my health issues are a bit annoying & handicapping while others are potentially terminal although stable at this time. With that said I truly feel Blessed. I believe God Created me to care for his creatures and placed me in the wonderful town of Satellite Beach to do just that. I just wanted you all to know that over all these years each and every time that I entered an exam room I was humbled and honored that you put your trust in me in regards to your petโ€™s health. A special thanks to Cheryl Pescatore for all her assistance and friendship over many, many years. Letโ€™s do lunch. Alexys has evolved into a skilled technician and is learning more everyday. And, of course, my Love and thanks to my wife Dr Janet Page who has not seen patients for several years but has been instrumental with all the details that allow a business to run smoothly.
With that said, I would like to introduce Dr Kaitlyn Conant. Several veterinarians expressed interest in Seaside and the community. Dr Conant appealed most to me to carry on as the go to animal practitioner in Satellite Beach. She is young yet experienced, intelligent, caring and a better surgeon than myself. You are in good hands.
I will maintain my license to practice, attend continuing education and make a determined effort to get well and may pop up again in a fill in roll.
Take care and God Bless
Dr Jim Kaseta

Quigi passed over the rainbow bridge today. Nick strolled into the shelter 8 years ago looking for a kitten. Fresh out of kittens so he asked to see the oldest, fattest most unadoptable cat in the facility. And away they went.
