National Mutt Day is a pet holiday launched in 2005 by celebrity pet and lifestyle expert Colleen Paige. It raises awareness of the many mixed-breed dogs waiting for adoption in shelters and rescues. It is celebrated two times every year: July 31st and December 2nd.
