Hello Everyone,
Please, everyone, we ask that for fairness and respect to others, that you respect our parameters:
1) You can only pick up for the number of adults present in the car. So, if you need to pick up for someone else who can't make it (doctor's appt, work, etc), just bring your spouse or another adult in his or her place.
2) At 12:30pm, cones will be placed behind the last car, so we won't allow anyone else to arrive. That is to give time to break down and also to respect the time of the volunteers so they can continue with their day.
Just a thought: Just keep in mind that the food distributions are generally the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00-12:30pm...........just so you can plan your appointments around that time (of course, as much as possible as we understand that it is not always possible).
3) SAFETY ALERT:
Please, be safe with respect to traffic. If you end up waiting on side of the road in the line, pull all the way off the road into the grassy area........... and just skip the part that is not safe to park (there are 2 really bad areas on side of the road). If there is a gap between you and the car in front of you because of that rough spot, just wait until the car in front of you is far enough ahead and also watch out for traffic before going into the road to pull up behind that car on the safer grassy area so the line can proceed.
Also: when having to turn around to enter the line, PLEASE BE SAFE!! Watch what you are doing to keep from causing an accident to oncoming traffic, even if that means you need to pull to the side of the road until traffic clears in order to cross over and enter the line.
LASTLY: the church is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any traffic accidents that happen. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
4) LET'S BE RESPECTFUL of other people. When you are arriving, please, go to the end of the line and not cut the line in front of someone else just because there is a gap between two cars (for safety, like mentioned above, there may be gaps). It is not fair to those who have waited in line. There will be a gap in at least two parts of the line (where it is unsafe to park).
All are welcomed, and we are delighted to serve you all. We love you all. Please be safe and respectful to others who are on the road and in the line. We want everyone to arrive safely, be served, and arrive home safely. We also want those traveling on Shriner's blvd to be safe also.
We hope you all have a Blessed Christmas and New Year with your families!! And for those who are having a hard time this holiday season, may God love and presence surround you and comfort you.
