Every summer, for the 4 major flag holidays of the season (Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day) our local music department runs our "FlagRaiser". For over 14 years, this event has made our community rich with red, white, and blue. It is incredible to drive through town and see streets lined with the flag!
Tomorrow morning from 9am-1pm, Sauk Prairie Music students and families will be coming around for our annual Flag Blitz! The intention is to take another step towards having a flag in every yard! On top of the visual impact, it is a fundraiser that benefits over 600 students from 5th -12 Grade music!

Hello everyone! You might have heard a lot lately about a respiratory disease affecting our furry friends. Many veterinarians are seeing an increase in coughing dogs, and we want to keep you informed. Unfortunately, we're not certain if this is a new disease, or a higher incidence of coughing due to a combination of previously known respiratory issues (remember last year's "tripledemic" in people). It's important to note that the vast majority of the coughing cases we've seen have NOT caused serious illness. However, some pets have had a persistent cough.
Stay Informed: Keep up to date on vaccines as recommended for your pet. When visiting family and friends, find out if any dogs your dog may encounter are coughing, and make sure they are current on vaccines as well.
Preventive Measures: If your dog is sick, keep them away from other dogs to prevent the potential spread of the disease. If your dog has heart disease or takes any medication that suppresses the immune system, be very cautious about their exposure to other dogs.
Seek Professional Help: If your pet isn't feeling well or has a persistent cough, don't hesitate to call us for professional advice and care. Your pet's health is our priority.

This is our FOURTH heartworm case of the year! If your dog isn’t on preventative, there’s still time to get them started, so they don’t develop this potentially deadly condition. Remember, ordinary dewormers do not treat heartworms! A blood test is generally required prior to starting preventative. Video below shows the moving heartworm larvae in the dog’s blood.
