Last month we welcomed some visitors from UW Madison for a visit, including Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jonathan Levine, and Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin! Name: Poppy
Age: 8 months (but I already act like I own the place)
Breed: Heeler Mix (aka professional runner, chaser, and occasional herder)
Location: Wherever there’s action!

About Me:
Hey, I’m Poppy! A fast little ball of energy who loves to run, chase, and occasionally nip at heels—especially other dogs’ heels (it’s a heeler thing, okay?). I’ve learned humans aren’t really fans of that, though, so I’m working on keeping my herding instincts in check. I’m currently living with a cool human who works with dogs, so I get to play with them every day—dream life, right? When I’m not zipping around, I love a nice long walk or run followed by a well-deserved nap. I’m all about fun, adventure, and… staying dry. Swimming? No thanks, I like my paws on solid ground.

Looking For:
A human who appreciates the art of the chase, long outdoor adventures, and post-run cuddles. Bonus points if you have other dogs or kids to hang out with—and maybe even a cat (though I get that they might not be my biggest fans). I am eager to please and will do anything for a treat, but I need someone who can give me a firm "no" when I slip up, so I can keep learning and be the best girl I can be!

Fun Fact:
I once opened a bottle of Gatorade by myself. So yeah, I’m basically a genius.

*NEEDS A HOME* *PLEASE HELP*

Everyone meet Poppy. She is a 8 month old pup searching for her forever home. She has been bounced around from home to home. She is currently being fostered by one of our employees until we find the perfect family for her.
She is a very sweet and loving dog. She loves to cuddle and spend time chilling on the couch. She is also very playful! She does well with other dogs but she can come off a bit snippy. That is the Heeler in her. She needs an experienced home with strong willed owner. She would do ok with other dogs or as an only dog. Poppy will require a very busy home life. Lots of exercise and activities! She is good with kids but also keep in mind she has Heeler in her and they do get nippy if excited or over stimulated. She has been spayed and is UTD on everything and is also microchipped. I will not just let her go to anyone. Her next home needs to be her last home! This is the results from her DNA test. 57% Australian Cattle Dog, 18% Redbone Coonhound, 12% Bluetick Coonhound, 12% Labrador Retriever.
She is currently 28 pounds and shouldn’t get much bigger.

Four Paws proudly supports Sauk Prairie Music!

Flag Blitz Alert!

Every summer, for the 4 major flag holidays of the season (Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day) our local music department runs our "FlagRaiser". For over 14 years, this event has made our community rich with red, white, and blue. It is incredible to drive through town and see streets lined with the flag!

Tomorrow morning from 9am-1pm, Sauk Prairie Music students and families will be coming around for our annual Flag Blitz! The intention is to take another step towards having a flag in every yard! On top of the visual impact, it is a fundraiser that benefits over 600 students from 5th -12 Grade music!
