The regular December Club Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 pm in the clubhouse.

All club members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The December meeting is the Annual Meeting and Election. ALL VOTING MEMBERS will have the opportunity to vote on the 2025 Officers and Board of Directors.

We encourage all members to participate in the meeting and future of CMRC.

CMRC Winter Informal Trials Return!

The Winter Informal Trial Season is soon upon us! The December CMRC Informal Trial will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, pending weather. Generally speaking if the forecast temperature is below zero at 8 am we will cancel/postpone the event.

The trial is open to members and non-members alike. Stakes are offered in the Open, Qualifying, Hunter, Derby, Junior Hunter and Puppy. Entry fees $15. Frozen ducks and pigeons will be used in all stakes.

Entries will accepted at the clubhouse from 8:00 to 9:00 AM with the stakes beginning at 9:00 AM.

The kitchen will be open to provide lunches at a nominal fee.

Everyone is encouraged to take a turn in the field to throw birds.

Come out and support the club and run your dog in some friendly competition.

Ribbons are awarded at the conclusion of the day's tests.

Thank you to the club members who came out today in this very cold weather for the work day. We got the brush piles collected and ready for burning, the clubhouse s**c and span, and some protective fencing around the new trees that were planted on n Klick’s Field.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall Work Day!
Saturday, November 30
9:00 AM

It is time for a Fall Work Day to prepare our grounds and facilities for the upcoming winter. We have a number of tasks, none of which are really big jobs, but many hands makes light work.

Among the tasks we have planned:

Clean up the various brush piles around the grounds from the remnants of the summer storm damage

Clean up any other various fallen trees and brush that has not already been cleared

Put tire chains on the tractor and mount the snow blade on the club four-wheeler

General organization of the shed and storing of equipment

Install some sort or protective barrier around the dozen new trees that have been planted in Klick's Field

Thorough cleaning and mopping of the clubhouse

We have enjoyed the efforts of a few individuals who have been puttering around the grounds for several weeks doing odds and ends, here and there. But we have an ample membership that can all pitch in a little bit and make short work of things.

We have also secured a skid steer with a grapple bucket, and a dump trailer to haul the brush piles. We won't have to move every piece of brush by hand! The brush just needs to be piled up in manageable sized piles that can grabbed and placed in the dump trailer and then hauled to the brush pile.

Again, this work day will be Saturday, November 30 beginning at 9 am.

Bring your chainsaw, brush saw, work gloves and strong back. The more the merrier!

It’s not too late to wish Good Luck to our very own Steve Goetze and his trusty canine companion Doc as they continue in the 2024 National Derby Championship.

The NDC is being held this week at Wooddale Farm near Sedalia, Missouri. Steve and Doc are through two series of a 9-10 series national championship. It’s a marathon rather than a sprint, but just one or two mistakes can be the difference between a call-back or a drop.

You can follow all the action, get a view of each series, up to the minute reports on each competitor and see all the call-backs at The Retriever News. The NDC blog is available at theretrievernews.com.

Bring us all back something nice Doc…like a really nice trophy or at least a finalist ribbon. Go get ‘em!

Congratulations Judy Super and her dog Sylvie! Judy and Sylvie not only completed their Junior Hunter title this summer, but went on and finished a Senior Hunter title as well. Great work!

Congratulations to CMRC Member Mike Wills on a great couple of weeks.

WOW!!! Mike Wills and Chev were awarded 2nd at Hinckley then followed up with Win at Blackhawk….qualifying for The National in Mondovi! High point derby dog last year …just over 2 1/2 years of age….👏👏👏
