💛💙🤍 Today Therapy Dog Sophie made her debut at Froedtert Hospital in Menomonee Falls and even got her own voluteer badge! Her love and personality shined today as she met many new friends and showed off her good behavior. Sophie and handler/trainer Mandie were joined by Sophie’s future handler and dog-dad! The team was very grateful to have such an awesome experience for training today. Thank you to everyone who helped out and spent time with Sophie on her training and visitation outing so she can gain the skills to be the best she can be! 🤍💙💛

Yesterday Nori and Joy went with handlers Mandie Sue and Linda to Columbia St. Mary’s Ascension Hospital to work in the behavioral health inpatient unit! They were a big hit and loved spending extra time with the patients in animal asssisted therapy and meeting the OT’s! 💙💛

Mr Basil took a trip with handler Maddie today to his first soft ball game today! As you can tell he enjoyed cheating on the team and showing off how adorable he is!

It was a great visit to Harvest Home today with Nori and Grace along side handlers Mandie and Sue after a business networking meeting. After getting all the love and massages from the residents it was off to the mill to pick up some feed! These girls had a blast loving on everyone and showing off some cute tricks!

We had an awesome time at Slinger Highschool yesterday for their wellness fair! So many amazing booths and even more amazing people. The dogs had a blast and so did we!

🎂 Grace and Joy were out celebrating Grace’s birthday early this year! Grace’s birthday wish was to visit the residents at Teal Shores so of course handler Linda obliged and chauffeured the girls to their destination. It was a wonderful time and there were plenty of smiles to go around! 🎂

Therapy Dog Pearl made a trip to Ascension’s behavioral health unit again yesterday where she tag teamed the animal assisted therapy with Therapy Dog Britta! Britta was recently placed in her permanent placement location with OT Karen at Ascension and it was so great to see her fulfilling her duties as a Therapy Dog from Dawgs at Work. It was with sad hearts that we heard of the passing of fellow working dog 🌈"Comfort Dog Rhoda"🌈 this past week. She was a bright light when things felt dark and she helped to provide much unconditional love and comfort to those around her. Rhoda was scheduled to visit Brookfield East today as the students prepare to take their final exams today. When her owners reached out to us to see if our very own Dawgs at Work's Therapy Dog "Sophie", who is currently in training to take over for Rhoda, would be able to attend we of course did all we could to help out. Unfortunately due to other circumstances Sophie was not able to attend but her little cousin, Dawgs at Work's Therapy Dog "Basil" was able to step into the pawprints and take up the task. He did wonderful and of course everyone loved him as much as he loved them!

Last Thursday Grace and Pearl had a busy day! They started the morning early attending a business networking group with handlers Sue Mandie and Linda and then made the journey over to Harvest Home to visit the residents where they were promptly spoiled with massages and loved on in exchange for their unconditional love and support.

Pearl and Basil assisted with a Teen Connection group supported by NAMI earlier this week. It was so awesome seeing the bright smiling faces that these two pups helped bring to the group! They were pretty tired after all was said and done and enjoyed a good nap after a job well done!

You may have been wondering what Grace is up to. Well we are excited to finally announce her official position in our brand new program! Dawgs at Work has decided to keep Grace! She, along side Nori and Joy, (and some of our other pups) will be part of our newest program at Dawgs at Work. This program features our specially trained therapy dogs that can be scheduled to go out for special visitations to businesses, hospice, private individuals, and much more to provide individualized love and support to those in need! If you or someone you know would enjoy the company of these special pups please don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule a session with us, we are happy to travel!

It was an awesome night for Dog Yoga with the Therapy Dogs! Joy, North, Grace, Pearl, Sophie, and Basil along with their handlers were hosted by Random Lake Highschool for this awesome event. The dogs had such a good time snuggling and playing with everyone. It was a great mental health day! Thank you to all who attended we hope you had as much fun as we did!

You may remember Zoey Bean from last week, well today her mom passed her handler exam with us! They are now a complete therapy dog team! We are so excited for them! These two have worked so hard together to make sure they have their skills down, Yvonne with the understanding of canine cognition, training, and handling, and Zoey the art of obedience and therapy work. Great job team! 💙💛
