We are a private, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance for veterinary care for pets belonging to low-income pet owners. Since 2012, Best of Friends has provided more than 1,100 low income pet owners with veterinary assistance. Our goal is to insure that no pet suffers or is relinquished to a shelter because its owner cannot afford veterinary care. The money that we pay to vet

erinarians for treating your pet comes from donations by individuals who love animals and from fundraisers. If you need assistance with your pet’s veterinary care, call 906-630-4602.

Sept. 22 - Our organization has mailed out 256 FOCAS applications to low income pet owners since April 2023 for assistance with spay & neuter expense. This assistance is available only to residents of Chippewa County. We have no idea how many of the 256 have followed through, but this seems to be an appropriate posting to share.
