****15 min late drop off.****

This has ALWAYS been my policy, even in WI.
If you are going to be MORE than 15 min late for your scheduled appointment, I’m sorry, but please turn around and go home.
I can usually make up 15 min somewhere, but anything beyond that, puts me behind on your dog, and that bleeds into every other appointment throughout the day. (And it snowballs, 15 min on your dog, 30 min on the next, and so forth).

For the next couple of weeks, I am booked, and working by myself. Please be on time, and pick up in a timely fashion when I call to tell you that your pet is ready. Thank you~

I took this comment (with the poster’s permission) from a Groomer’s page that I follow and participate on, on Facebook.

A little backstory:
The original discussion was about a groomer who was attacked by a clients dog, while trying to complete a nail trim. The client was dishonest about the temperament of her dog, and the groomer nearly lost her arm. Yes, I said she ALMOST LOST HER ARM!

Groomers are one of the least respected skilled professionals in the nation. We work hard, and take risks with our body parts every single day. If you have a groomer who is the kind of groomer, who will fight your unruly dog, to complete the groom because they desperately need it, or will gently groom your senior dog, who needs a loving hand, she uses her acrobatic skills, to turn herself into a pretzel to accommodate the one who won’t stand up, and even the ones who have to be muzzled just to complete a nail trim, show your groomer some love. They’ve earned it I promise you.
And they LOVE your dogs, unconditionally. We do this for our love of animals, and we have a passion for what we do. We are skilled professionals, and most of us wouldn’t do anything else with our lives.

I raise my hat to the groomers who follow this career with their passion & dedication to the well-being of the care & honesty they give to the animals. Bravo to the good groomers out there. To the groomers who do this thinking it will be quick & easy money...please don't touch our animals, leave the job and move on! There are dedicated groomers who put the priority of animals above thier own safety at times and unfortunately are injured by doing so. This being said, I will wait for this groomer always. Hey everybody…

So, I’m in the last few weeks at KMM, and just the thought of closing my doors and leaving all of you, has me very emotional.
Saying good bye to everyone is proving to be much harder than expected. 💔 (Please forgive me if it makes anyone uncomfortable)
I love you guys, and all of your wonderful pets. 💜🐾

I do still have a few openings before my final days, if anyone needs it. Or just stop by and chat for a minute, if you have time. I wish I could see you all before leaving, but I know there isn’t time for that. Sadly.
Please know how much I appreciate all of you, who have supported me in this past year. It truly means more than you know.

Hey KMM family….

So, I know rumors are flying, and some of you know the story, but most of you don’t, so, here it is…

Business has been slow, and getting slower all the time. I have been working a part-time job on the side for several months now, and Ashlynn had to leave to take another job, because I couldn’t offer her enough hours.

Working by myself the last few weeks, also limits the number of appointments I can schedule. I am only there 2 days a week right now, so I am slower than I want to be returning phone calls and text messages.
I know this fact alone has upset some of you, and for that I do apologize.

Sadly, I’m going to have to close KMM. 💔
It breaks my heart to even write that down, but it is a harsh truth.
I don’t have an exact date yet, but it will be very soon, and I promise to keep you all posted.

To all of our wonderful, loyal customers that have graced our doorstep for the last year, and allowed us to know you, and to love and care for your pets, THANK YOU!
We appreciate you, and are going to sincerely miss you all. 💔🐾💔

ATTENTION SENIOR DOG OWNERS

Just like us, as dogs get older, they develop varying health issues. Some start losing their sight, with some it’s their hearing, others have trouble with joint pain and stability.
All of these things, and several more, make grooming for a senior dog more difficult and they are a higher risk for injury.

Because we strive to maintain safety as well as quality for our senior clients, we are implementing a new policy.

Current clients:

Effective May 29, 2023:

Current clients at Kiss My Mutt who have pets who reach the age of 13, will be assessed to see what the best course of grooming will be for them moving forward.
Some dogs are still doing really well at this age, others, sadly are not. We will assess, and make recommendations based on coat type, condition, the pets ability to stand, and a few other factors. We will make our recommendations based on each pets individual needs.

New and Current Clients:

Any new pet that comes in at the age of 13, or above, will go through the same assessment as mentioned above. This assessment will determine how we move forward with your dogs grooming future.

Pets 14 years and up:

Kiss My Mutt is a comfort over vanity groomer. Always has been, always will be. What this means, is we strive to make every dogs grooming appointment a successful, positive experience.

Effective May 29, 2023:

Any and all clients 14 years and above will receive what will be known as our “Senior Comfort Groom”.

Senior Comfort Groom
Will include:
*Scooping the eyes and cleaning up the face and chin.
*Shaving the paw pads, and trimming the nails.
*Shaving the sanitary areas, and expressing the a**l glands.
*Bath, blow dry, brush out.
*Light trim. To include face, feet, ears and any other necessary area.
*Seniors will also have 2 people with them at all times. One to hold, and one to work.

Senior Baths:
We follow the same guidelines for senior baths. At the age of 13, we will assess to determine how they handle the bath, the nail clipping and the blow dry. While some dogs do great, well into their senior years, others struggle with these basic procedures. Again, each dog will be assessed, and we will make recommendations based on your dogs individual needs.

All of these procedures will help us to reduce groom time, reduce stress for your aging pet, make it an easier process for your senior, and it also reduces the possibility for injury.

1. Appointments. What we’re doing now. Individual appointments, your pets are typically ready within 2-3 hours. (For a full groom).
2. Morning drop off. Everyone comes in between designated morning hours, and we work on them throughout the day, and call when your pet is ready. First in, first out.

A popular question we get is "what is the price?" With us being new to the area, that is a great question, however, you should also be asking,
“What type of experience will my dog receive while in your care?”
“How long will my dog have to stay for a groom with Kiss My Mutt?”
“Will my dog be stuck in a kennel all day waiting for their groom?”
“Will any extra steps be taken to make sure my dog isn't completely stressed out while with you?“

Here is a brief answer to all of those questions:

Our goal at Kiss My Mutt, is to have a quick, but safe & efficient, turn around time for your pet while with us. The groomer isn't any dogs favorite place, but most of our clients are happy, tail wagging pups walking through our door again and again! We treat your pet, like one of our own. 💜

We strive to keep all of our clients happy, to that effect, we schedule a limited number of dogs each day. This allows us one-on-one personal time with each and every dog. We take time to know them, and to let them know & trust us. This makes the grooming experience less stressful for the groomer, and more importantly, for your pet. When their groom is complete, we call you to pick them up!
Quick and efficient!
In return, dogs don't dread their next grooming appointment, because they know they won't be here all day long! We also ensure, that no pet sits in a crate for the duration of their time with us. While everyone does have some crate time, usually to complete the blow dry with fans, everyone gets floor time. (Roaming free within the shop, with proper supervision)
