Meet little miss Pie! 🥧🐾 Pie is an optimistic and confident girl who has a lot of love to give. She shows that love through baking all kinds of pastries and treats. (Can you guess which is her favorite to bake? 😉) When it comes to Pie, there's nothing better than baking with her friends (both human and furry) and coming together to make something special - and tasty! The dogs featured in this album are some of the dogs currently available for adoption at Chatham County Animal Services.

Our Adoption Center is open 1 - 4:30 PM 6 days a week, closed on Wednesdays. If you see an animal you wish to adopt call 912-652-6575 to set an adoption appointment or walk in during open hours.

The Adoption fee for dogs is $70.00 and includes age appropriate vaccines, deworming, heartworm test, microchip, and spay/neuter. Chatham County residents are responsible for purchase of $5 rabies tag and registration.

If you have other pets at home, please bring proof of their current rabies vaccinations with you to your onsite visit.

New dogs are added to our adoption floor throughout the week, so not all available dogs may be pictured.

Introducing Adam! 🖍️🐾 Adam is a sweet and gentle boy who is on the lookout for his new forever family. He's a big ol' softie who would love nothing more than to snuggle with his favorite humans! When it isn't snuggle time, Adam loves playing with his furry friends in the play yard or going for a nice relaxing walk in the park. He's an all-around good boy who would be a great fit in any home!

As a whole, pets like cats and dogs with black or darker fur coats are more likely to be overlooked in shelters/rescues. This usually stems from old superstitions or stereotypes that aren't always true. These animals deserve a happy and loving home as much as any other pet in the shelter.

To help them find that home, we will be running our "Black is Beautiful" adoption event! From Saturday, January 18th to Sunday, January 26th, adoption fees for animals with black or darker fur coats will be completely waived. That's right: $0 adoption fees for your new furry friend! 🖤

We are open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. everyday except Wednesdays, so don't delay! Please share this post, spread the word, and, of course, ADOPT!

Who says we can't get a little spooky in January?! 🎃🐾 Meet Bettleguise, a charming and energetic young fella who is currently staying at CCAS. When he isn't making his preparations for Halloween (and it starts early for him), you'll find Bettleguise doing laps in the yard and playing some fetch with his favorite humans. He's a very active pup who will surely keep you on your toes - in more ways than one! 🅱️ 🅾️ 🅾️ ‼️

Look who sailed over for a visit! ⛵❤️ Ruby 7 (formerly known as Hera) and her forever family stopped by CCAS last week to say hi while they were in town! She was adopted back in July of 2024 from our shelter and traveled all the way up to Rhode Island to sail the east coast with her new family.

Ruby 7 seemed a bit confused when she first arrived to the shelter for her visit. However, once she saw the staff, that confusion faded rather quickly. Ruby 7 was completely overjoyed, giving everyone lots and lots of kisses! She got a lot of treats and pets in return, as staff was ecstatic to see her happy, healthy and overall living her best life with her forever family.

We at CCAS wanted to personally thank Ruby 7's forever family for doing all they could to make sure this girl came home. We also wanted to thank everyone else who has adopted an animal from our shelter. You've opened your hearts and your homes to animals in need, and for that we all can't thank you enough!

🎮 TREATS Needed! 🎮

Currently at CCAS, we are running low on small dog treats for our dogs. These treats help with enrichment, training, and are overall a great snack for our pups. You - yes, you! - can help. If you have any treats you wish to donate, stop by CCAS during open hours (1-4:30 everyday except Wednesday) and drop them off next to our front door.

Introducing Jeff-Fa-Fa! 🏖️🐾 Jeff-Fa-Fa is an energetic and athletic boy who loves to be out near the ocean. He is a big ol' lovebug, and is always trying his best to make sure his friends are okay - both on and off the beach! Currently, he's trying to find a new forever family who can join him in all of his loving and upbeat adventures.

Meet Midnight and Chief Christmas. Both dogs are currently staying at CCAS. Their journey has been a tough one, as they are frequently overlooked due their appearance. We at CCAS say to never judge a book by its cover!

Want to make a difference on an animal's life, but you're unable to adopt or foster currently/in the near future? Then volunteering might be the option for you!

From dog walking and play groups to events and doggy-day-outs, our volunteers make a major impact on the lives of all the animals here at CCAS. They give each of our animals some much needed time out of their kennels, giving them a chance to socialize, play, and get their steps in!
