WHAT IS UP EVERYBODY! Happy Friday, hope everyone is staying well. I’m still pumping out orders as fast as I can. If you’ve bought patches, please leave a review and tell me how I’m doing.
I’ve gotten some inquiries lately about patches. I’ve found a lot of people are turned off when it comes to pricing of each piece, usually $10. So I wanted to address it.
I’ll start out by saying, I’m a one man operation. The prep time and machine work that goes into each patch takes hours from start to finish.
Fabric: I buy fabric in bulk and it takes a few hours to get it cut, pressed, and ready for the machine.
Design: This can take a few minutes to a day or two. Really depends on the complexity. I have to digitize and then work with the design in the embroidery program. I usually go through several test runs to get it right. That’s wasted materials I have to trash.
The patch: once it hits the machine it takes roughly an hour to sew if I stay on top of it. When it comes off, it has to be cut, velcro sewed on, trimmed, edges melted, dyed, and packaged.
I know you can order patches online cheap. But what kind of quality are you going to get for that $3-7 patch? Most of the patches you find on the Internet are made in China, in huge factories with little quality control. When I first started making patches I was working with several companies over seas before I decided to do it on my own. Everything had a minimum order and costs hundreds of dollars. With me, there is no minimum number. Everything is made to order. You’re not billed until you are satisfied with the design and it goes on the machine.
I hope this clarifies some of the questions.
