We are happy to announce we are now taking applications for some of our recent hoarding rescues. Copper (male Dachshund), Maize (male Shih Tzu), Apricot (female Poodle), Chestnut (male Dachshund), and Midnight (male Boston Terrier) are all still learning about being dogs. They only lived their lives in cages of squalor, so families need to be realistic on the time it may take for their new pet to adjust and learn the routines of a household.

Tomorrow marks the 22nd anniversary of Coastal Pet Rescue. Unfortunately, feels like we will still be at this for another 22 years to come with cases like Diego who found his way to us today. There is nothing quite heartbreaking as a dog slowly inching towards a clean water dish, turning his head to you almost as if asking permission before drinking, then struggling to keep standing while doing so. Who knows how long it's been since someone cared for him, but he will have it now, and we will do everything we can to make him forget having ever been neglected because it's what we continue to do, day in, day out.

How has snuggly, cuddly, playful, sweet Cadbury not been adopted? She’s the best little kitty! Over the weekend, our assistance was requested to help relocated a large number of dogs in a very short amount of time. While we cannot disclose all the details at this time, we are pleading on behalf of these souls for your help.

On Monday, we accepted 10 adult dogs into our rescue: three Poodles, two Dachshunds, one Shih Tzu, two Maltese, one Boston Terrier, and one Yorkie. These dogs could barely be recognized from the overgrowth of fur, not to mention the stench. In addition to getting vaccines for probably the first time along with spays and neuters, they are all going to need dentals to clean up rotted teeth and infections. This is going to be a rather extensive vet bill for each of them.

We are asking for you to be their champions in helping to raise the funds for their immediate medical needs. Urgent call out: Coastal Pet Rescue is looking for up to 20 fosters to assist with a hoarding case. These will be smaller breed dogs, potentially puppies as well. As we do not know much about temperaments, homes without small children may be best. DOGS ARE COMING TO US ON MONDAY. Additionally, we are looking for CAT FOSTERS to help move our shelter cats out from the shelter in advance of the winter storm this week. Link for cat fostering will also be in our comments.
