Scattered snow showers are expected to develop during the day on
Wednesday, with a 40 to 60 percent chance of snow at any given
location. Some of these will contain visibility down to a half a
mile, and accompanied by wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph, will produce
localized hazardous travel. A quick inch of accumulation is possible
with the heavier showers. The worst conditions are expected from
around midday into mid afternoon, though the snow threat will end
from west to east as the afternoon progresses. Temperatures will be
falling through the 20s in the afternoon, so any snow that melts on
roads will freeze and cause areas of slick travel for the afternoon
commute.

Be prepared for rapid changes in driving conditions on Wednesday,
especially in the afternoon.

Yesterday was a very bittersweet day, with the last DayCare clients and last Boarding clients checking out from the kennel.

I am overwhelmed by the loyalty of my clients, who upon hearing that Steve and I were closing Boarding and DayCare Services, decided to take their fall weekend trip so that they could board with us one last time. It was wonderful to have so many friends come to stay on a weekend that is normally extremely quiet (being a "nothing much happening" weekend in September.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude to my employees, who stayed through until the very last day. Working as diligently as ever making sure our furry friends got the sort of care our clients depend on receiving.

A lot of tears were shed yesterday.

Dear friends and clients.
Steve and I want to thank you all for 46 wonderful years, of allowing us to serve you and care for your pets.

TailWaggers will be stopping our Boarding and DayCare (Day Boarding) services as of 9/23/2024.

Leslie will continue grooming, and will be able to be reached at our 217-359-4212 phone number.

I have been able to reach many of you personally but did not have time to contact every client we have been so lucky to work with. So many of you and your families have been clients for decades, and I appreciate you all so much! It has been our honor and privilege to be able to love and care for your furry friends.

Meet our friend Gio!

Gio is a rare breed known as Lagotto Romagnolo. Lagotto are a hardy breed, and while originally used as a water retriever, they are more commonly known for being truffle hunters.

Lagotto have a rustic appearance, they have a wool like coat that curls into tight ringlets. His dense coat and tight curls mean he requires a very unique grooming routine.
