Established in 1998, Double Springs Farm is a family owned and operated riding, boarding and training facility. Combining expert instruction and training for hunters and jumpers with opportunities to attend local and rated competitions, we offer something for horses and riders at every stage of their training. With a friendly and welcoming environment and a family atmosphere, Double Springs Farm feels like home for beginners and experts alike.

Double Springs Farm in Saxonburg Pa has 3 open stalls! DSF is a small (17 stall) hunter jumper boarding barn with a friendly kind atmosphere. We are interested in adding boarders that want to develop their riding and do some shows. We do the local Harlensburg H/J shows and rated shows.
The horse always comes first! Large pastures (about 25 acres is split into 9 pastures) with small group turnout (1 to 4 typically). Horses go out at night in the summer and daytime in the winter. Excellent care with experienced staff (All have worked here over 6 years!). Large outdoor ring and 80' x 120' indoor. Individual tack lockers, heated wash racks with warm water and climate controlled observation room. 4 lessons are included in the monthly board (although most take more than 1 per week). Training rides available.
DSF has consistency in care and training having been is business over 25 years. Trainer/owner Annette Danehy lives on site.
I love working with clients and their horses to help them develop as a team.

So last week at Brave was fun and finished up grate. Mia, Miles, Carson and Bijoux all went home with Champions. Mia and Sporty earned champion in The Children's pony. It was so fun to watch her learn and deveope and get consistent. Vanessa and Miles are so consistently improving and seems like they have a new personal beat round at each show. Maybug, Carson and Bijoux had big improvements in their confidence and comfort each day. Looking forward to July Brave.

After day 3 of Brave Horse show. What a wonderful group of clients and horses. Developing a connection with a few new to me young horses is just so rewarding and so much fun! And watching the youngsters I have developed confidently show with their amateurs is equally rewarding. I am so lucky to truely love my job. A big thank you to my clients for continuing to believe in my approach and to be patient with the process.

I am so proud of all my horses and riders showing at Brave Horse II.

Peyton Los never ceases to amaze me! We started her horse on a magnesium supplement (can have many benefits to horses for headshaking, to muscle improvement to a calming effect) that must have reached its saturation point for Volt. As much as it is used as a calming agent (not our intent), for other horses it makes them spooky and hot. Poor Volt could barely deal with himself let alone all the other stimulants. Peyton had to learn to ride an entirely different creature at the the show. And she figured it out and rode great still synching a reserve champion in the children's hunter.

Mia Tonet and her pony Sports News got some good ribbons at her first outdoor show with him and second time doing the Children's pony. She is learning so much on this guy. She was fantastic going first in her first derby ever and giving a solid performance that had her fourth after the first trip!

Chelsea Hahn and her Aria were so much fun to watch bringing home several blues. It was Chelsea's debut in the jumper ring.....she found her home. Absolutely love this pair. I held them to the .90m for their first show and first time in the jumpers. They were steller and will be moving up in height.

Kylie Close and her girl Sage have come so far. I love being part of the continued improvement. Their courses just keep getting better and smoother and the whole jumping form is changing. It is so cool to watch the progress.

Vanessa Calvin and her man Miles are an awesome pair. Miles is figuring out the job so well and is getting confident in his roll. Vanessa is learning how to help him out. They put in their best trip yet! The lead changes are smoothing out and getting consistent without hurry , worry or stress. Love it. oh yeah, and he was champion of the 2'9 USHJA...good boy.

Kate Ewald is just a stellar mom to Bijoux. She decided that keeping Bijoux to just the pro rides this week would be in the best interest in the long run. Bijoux had her moments of concern (jump crew are terrifying killers) but then remembered that she loves this job and can go smooth, relaxed and confident around the course.

This crew made the week fun and rewarding. Feeling blessed to have great clients and friends and good horse owners that always put their horses needs first. Thanks team!

šŸ¦„Ad Infinitum and Vanessa Calvin taking championšŸ„‡ in the low adult hunters as well has having some great trips in the non-pro hunter 2ā€™6ā€ and a win in the US in a large competitive group. Miles was also reserve championšŸ„ˆ in the USHJA 2ā€™9ā€ as well as taking the series win šŸ„‡ in the 2ā€™9ā€!

šŸ’µ Million Dollar Option and Kylie Close with some solid trips in 2ā€™3ā€ equitation as well as taking home the series reserve championšŸ„ˆin the 2ā€™3ā€! Congrats Kylie!

šŸ‘‘Glenhaven Cavalier and Kinley Manges taking reserve championšŸ„ˆin the USHJA 2ā€™ as well as some beautiful trips and top placings in a large short stirrup division!
