Tired doggos
Four snoozing doggos. Training is tiring work 😴 🙃
Crate drills
Charlie is with us for the weekend. He knows basic obedience commands, but his arousal level is off the charts. We're going to work on getting him to slow down and chill out. First thing we worked on was calmly going in and out of the crate.

Youtube intro
Anyone catch the new YouTube intro on my last Training Tip Tuesday video?
Making videos is probably my least favorite part of this business, but I totally understand how beneficial they are. The more I do them, the more I learn, and the better they look.....kind of like training your dog 🤔
Put in the reps, and you will continue to see results. Never stop learning, and keep improving your technique.
First parachute run.
Griffon got a new "toy" for Christmas. For a nervous/fearful dog who dislikes things following her, she seems to be adjusting to the parachute.
Piggy life
Piggy is life. Who can relate!? 🤣😂🐖🐶
Strangers in her car
Griffon went for a ride today. We had to drop my kid's friends off in town, and we also wanted to bring Griff down to do some training. We didn't want to make multiple trips, so we decided to bring her with us. This is a huge first for us. She did make one little grumble when they opened the door to get in, we told her no and corrected her. She's been chilling in the back ever since. Not a care in the world. Training works. Telling your dog no, and following up with a consequence works. Setting clear boundaries works. If I had allowed the grumble, it would have turned into a bark, which would have turned into a lunge, which would have turned into a bite. Not to mention the anxiety for us and the dog that would have been so heavy the whole ride. But instead, one second of discomfort resulted in a stress free, enjoyable ride for everyone.

Impulse control with Griffon
Today we worked on impulse control. Frisbee is probably her favorite thing in the world, so this was incredibly difficult for her. Training never stops. Once your dog learns how to do something, or how not to do something, you need to practice/proof them often.
